Well Brenski, my sincere compliments that you argue so much and so unnecessarily with Gerry, Vanila, Brensk, funny to see that Vanilla continues to give completely different answers to your valid statements. Really, Brenski, I have had enough after one try. Fortunately, you give up less quickly, again my compliments. Oh learned something about Queen today: Queen is only Mercury that as I may believe Vanila: Dylan never stood a chance were Mercury!

Freddie was a leading front man and he had to get the audience excited and wanting more quite a valid point.
Dylan on the other hand would send me to sleep in 5 minutes he is dreary and boring!

I'm referring to the number of different songs of his that have been recorded by other artists. At present it's listed as 382 different titles recorded by others!

The Beatles recorded 213 songs but were over all more popular than Dylan.
So you are trying to say that just because artists have recorded more cover versions of Dylan that makes him a better Artist than The Beatles?
Popularity is a different thing to how many artists covered Dylan in fact the public have the last say on that one!

you've failed to grasp what's been said. i never claimed any such thing. try reading.

regardless of what you think i said or what you actually think - the Beatles always will be the greatest band of all time - closely followed by Zeppelin. My own favourite (Queen) will likely always rank somewhere around 3rd - 5th in terms of actual greatness.

before you spout on - this isn't about sales. However, Zep and Beatles beat Queen on worldwide sales too.

this thread is about Dylan, his lyric writing is infinitely better than Queen - or any other major rock band that i love. the fact that 382 of his songs have been covered- and many of those hundreds of times, shows just want an influence his poetry has.

you've deliberately derailed another thread - as is your wont. if you don't have anything to specific say about the song (Murder Most Foul) - or even Dylan referencing Queen in that song, then you're not actually contributing to the discussion.

Totally agree with what Bob said. Not a huge Dylan fan myself either, but Dylan knows how to write a song. That's for sure.

He wasn't stating it as a matter of competition - he was stating it as a matter of indisputable fact.

But this thread has been enlightening, as it has highlighted that you justify your enjoyment of music purely on a comparative basis, which is obviously juvenile and unnecessary.

Cherry picking numbers that favour the artists you like (and rejecting the numbers that don't) is classic confirmation bias. You can simply like something for its own sake. Most people learn this by the time they're a teenager, but it is abundantly clear that you have not done so.

Brenski, Real Wizard et al, leave the trolls alone. I went to the last 4 pages of the Live Aid multitrack and it was two people arguing. The internet for most of us is around 25 years old. People like the ones who post the same shit day after day after after day need responses like oxygen. Stop giving it to them. Sermonizing to fools will not change a thing. You're welcome to start such a thread, but of course the problem is these trolls keep changing their names. They occasionally get banned, but then they can just start up a new account because this homemade forum engine (circa 2001) cannot ban IP addresses.

As stated numerous times before, someone needs to create another Queen forum catered for the 2020 realities of the internet, with any number of existing engines with those protections built in. This place has its occasional good moments, but it's about 90% trailer park trash now. But it sure is an education in what the world can look like without regulating forces. Two or three people can ruin something thousands used to enjoy.
