@SkyevTv, I'm glad you're here. How did you go with deciding whether you agree to live by the 3 principles of human decency I've outlined?

You do realise at this point that you only have two choices: you can agree like I did, or concede that you're an intellectually dishonest hypocrite. You've got no other options and ZZZZZZ... Or whatever won't do it all I'm afraid.

"brENsKi
my favourite band: Queen
my opinion as to who ARE greatest worldwide band(s) 1. Beatles, 2. Zep, 3. Queen"

Really? Led Zeppelin probably was bigger at the time. Just a quick look at Spotify shows me that Queen has over 32 million monthly listenens while Led Zeppelin has 13 mill. Thats a big difference. A difference that was big also before the movie.

Sales are not the best way to measure how big a band is over time. Dont stop me now was never a big Queen hit. But today the song is among their most famous songs. As for famous songs Led Zeppelin isnt even close to Queen. Ask the youth and you will find that they know several Queen songs. Led Zeppelin not so much. Can songs get more famous than We Will Rock you and We are the champions? But they ever reached number one on the biggest charts.

Freddie Mercury is the biggest and best front man ever that is way ahead of Robert Plant from Zeppelin and Brian May is a much better guitarist than Jimmy Page and that is a fact.
Led zeppelin do not come anywhere the near the brilliance of Queen.

I like Led Zeppelin 1 more than Queen 1, but I like Queen 2 more than Led Zeppelin 2.
I’d rather listen to Zep’s Remasters/Mothership than Queen GH 1, 2,3.
John Bonham was by far a better Drummer than Roger.
And let’s be honoust: Robert Plant was a lot sexier than Freddie!

On the other hand, Queen had much more variation in their songs because they had 4 great individual songwriters,

Brenski making quotes up in my name is pretty low and just proves you are a sad little Irish man.
I dont care what you write the fact is Freddie is a Legend and the world knows it so carry on supporting your loser Robert Plant.

If Freddie Jupiter had read my last post to him, and is as intellectual as he claims, he'd have realised what my answer to his question is.

And if he continues to claim that people like Gerry provide him with stimulating conversation, whilst nonchalantly brushing under the carpet the very fact Gerry continues to go against many of the principles he would like to see applied here, then that very same Freddie Jupiter is quite clearly an........intellectually dishonest hypocrite.

Now he can say whatever bumf he wants as I won't be returning to the thread to read or reply.
Have you switched it off and then on again?

Well Real Wizard Brenski there all the same.
Hypocrites slagging Queen off then go on to a new Queen site .
Zeppelin are not as powerful as Queen in modern day music.
Queen wipe the floor with Zeppelin any day.

@Mercury: where were you in the ‘70’s?
· Member since
If you were there, back than when bands like Queen, Zep, Quo, Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, Who, Sabbath, etc. were at their peak, you know that there was no competition between those bands. To me they were in the same league. They all played heavy rock music. Although Queen was my favourite, I didn’t dislike the others.
I remember me arguing with others about who’s the best and why. In my opinion that’s okay when you’re a teenager, ‘living in the middle of it when it happens’, but when you’re in your 50’s and look back to something that took place 40+ years ago, a different view would be aspected. Does it really stil matter who was/is the ‘best’?

I have to clearify my view on this. To me there is a big difference between being best and being most popular. I will by no means say that Queen is better than Zeppelin, The Who or whatever. For me Queen is the best band, but that is utterly subjective. Sales and popularity can be measured.

Any facts - including such tidbits as Zeppelin being arguably the biggest band of the 70s, and being a massive influence on early Queen and the evolution of rock as a whole - just fall on deaf ears.
