Vim Fuego - very good post about Sun City. Didn't Freddie say something like "a lot of money are to be earned there"? Nobody cared about apartheid.
In defence of proton I have to say he's a stepford since the very beginning, it's impossible to change him. He's basically a good guy, he only has a strange opinion on some of the Queen activities :-)

"It's directed at HIS fans? Are you sure it's not a widespread message to all. But not excluding Queen fans"
Who, but his fans, is going to access his website and read the message? Certainly not your average Joe that's for sure.
I'm all for stopping the downloading of songs and giving artists their royalties (and Charities in this case) So while I agree with his views on downloading from the internet, I would say the wording of his message in this case was ill advised.

i think itsn't right to remeber the period of suncity because now they tried to redress that fact and they have showed belief in doint it.yes, suncity was a bad fact in the queen story but now brian and roger are tryng to show that they made a mistake and are tryng to remedy. After the 46664 it's useless to remebr the '85
They took risks by broadcasting it on several mediums, just like when Electronic Arts (for example) does when it releases a new computer game.
If an artist goes to a mall and hands out 10,000 copies of his new album for free, he can't complain afterwards why no one buys it.

I think it's such a stupid thing to share music or videos ideated for a charity purpose. Brian is totally right in becomin' hungry abuot this. It's not simply a fact of stealing something like a musical product. This is something different. Downloading that songs (or video or anything else) you are upsetting the entire idea of this concert, that is NOT to make music to entertain people or like a form of art, but to use it like a vehicle to help people in need. Yeah, the entertainment and artistic factors are present indeed, but this time they are not the goal.
I agree that sharing this kind of stuff is equivalent to being a jackal. Some people maybe say "i download this to see it in prewiew, and then i'll buy the stuff" but do u really think that there are so many people sayn' this?
I haven't donated, and i am not so hypocrite to say the contrary, bot i'll never dwnlad that stuff. Maybe i'll buy the dvd with a friend, just because i like it. Simply i don't belive in the utility of this events. But i'm not sayn' i'm objectivly right and i'll not destroy the work of people that belive in them.

What artist would hand out 10,000 copies of an album in a mall? I would say that anyone who would is already worried about not selling their album.
That's my point, just imagine how many people watched the concert on TV, the webcast or heard it on the radio.
