Have Brian ever trashed some guitar on stage...? Heard sth like that, was supposed to be one of the copies or something... True...?

Yeah, he supposed to have thrown a guitar off stage once out of frustration. I'm sure it was not the original Red Special!

So there you have it a fool proof explanation about why Brian doesn't want any Christmas mail/presents.

It was the Birch replica of the Red Special, it was gold, instead of red (and you can see it in the We Will Rock You and Spread your Wings video)

Brian became angry with it and threw it off the stage

Hm, IMO the real "golden" colour looks different than this but basically FriedChicken is right :-)

On the Hot Space tour - he threw it off a very high stage and it was smashed to pieces.

I think it was before the Hot Space tour but not sure, apparently the neck snapped and it not possible to repair it.

It was later sent to Guild so they could measure it when they made a copy, however it was nicked from the Guild factory and never seen again.

So it's out there somewhere!

If memory serves - he can be seen playing the Birch copy during Dragon Attack on The Tube special (Milton Keynes) - I'm sure he played the Birch copy at the same point at Elland Road.

I've seen Freddie trash a guitar but not Brian.
And I've read that Roger trashed his drumkit, but I never would have thought that of Brian. I thought he rarely got in to tempers. Tut-tut if so.

Roger trashed his drumkit at the Saarbuck festival 1979.
