I also doubt Houston '77 can be released commercially, although that is my first choice of concerts that I want to see. Look at WWRY (fast) on the GVH1 DVD. Very grainy picture and mediocre audio. A shame, really.

How many times this year have we had this discussion?

The last FC mag mentioned there are plans for both GVH3 and another live concert release. My guess would be Milton Keynes (in full please!).

If they do release MK, and there isn't enough material to add a second disc, they could do a single audio CD of concert highlights :-)

Well, I hope there's gonna be a concert DVD...and I hope a good one from the seventees! Cause if they do Live at Budapest 86, it will be the same music as Wembley Stadium. I wanna hear some other songs live.... I'm still hoping and praying.... :)

Not too many I wouldn't think, since we're only 17 days into it. ;)

My choice would be... whatever makes you concert lovers the happiest.

"Hammersmith 79 would be a good choice, too."

I'd love to see a complete DVD release of that one too, Barb. But don't you think QP can get problems with that one if they try to release it. That gig was part of some charity work, right? Then again Queen were the only ones who played a full lenght gig for that charity.

A concert would be cool, but what I'd really like to see is the Live Aid bit! I know they only did 20 minutes but can't they put that into a dvd with a different concert on it?
Or make a whole dvd of it, with interviews, backstage ect ect? Or isn't there enough material to put it on dvd?

Houston '77 is smeary and choppy in some bits but the sound is excellent. Why QP hasn't considered releasing it is a mystery to me! With today's technology, it could be cleaned up, edited a bit and released. I wish I knew the reason for the hold on it and other concerts. Mannheim '86 isn't available yet, is it?

"With today's technology, it could be cleaned up"

Pray tell, what miracle technology is this?

Peace,
Adam.

Why, computers and their magic, dear!
Digital editing and transfer would be the answer. Frame by frame if need be, and it could improve things significantly. If Hollywood can restore silent movies to their original glory, then that aspect could be applied to older Queen concerts.
(Example -- look how Giorgio Moroder had Metropolis cleaned-up and re-edited and added new music and BANG! a miracle.)
