Hi.

I am the proud owner of this fantastic little amp. Guitar orchestrations sound much sweeter now!

Anyway, I've been trying to track down some more homemade websites that show their own recordings and personal settings for the unit. However, after searching the web for a while, it's pretty hard to find anything of interest in this area.

Can someone help, please?

Peace,
Adam.

Edit: I remember somehow coming across one last year. But I can't remember how I did that!

The manual tells you how to get Brian's sound (or the setting the original is equivalent to)

Well duh PG... You know, since it actually has controls on it, people can decide to use it to get different sounds out of it. Hence why I asked if anyone knew about people's homepages etc. Why the heck wouldn't someone check out the manual first?

I did manage to find one page - http://hellking.hihome.com/frame.htm

Unfortunately, it's not in english so I can't really read the details. Shame as it looks like a popular site for finding out usage and sound tips.

Peace,
Adam.

Here's a good one - http://homepage2.nifty.com/lari-lure/english1.htm

Sorry PG, but it sounded like you were being sarcastic. Something you don't shy away from! lol
GOOD HELP, Pheobe!

I suggest this topic be used to post sound links etc. I think it would be nice to provide as many sounds and info as possible.

Peace,
Adam.

That last link didn't have any of the stuff I heard from last year. Hmm... The things I remember were, Flash Gordon harmony parts and something from QueenII. I can't really remember though. But if someone has heard this stuff, please reply so I know I wasn't dreaming!

Peace,
Adam.

Cool to hear, Fried. I really want to keep this topic going for as long as possible!

Input from folk like yourself should insure that.

Ok, it's 6:25am and I have just created a nice guitar harmony. This amp is VERY special. I will be uploading in the afternoon of Tuesday. Hope you like it.

My first attempt last week, sounded Queen 2-ish. I mean the sonics of it. I'll have to try different mics or turn the tone pot on the amp, up. That was with an AKG C1000. Slightly off the side of the speaker cone.

Till then...

I thought you were looking for non-Brian sounds?

Doesn't that defeat the point of buying a Vox Deacy!? When did I say I wanted to get non-Brian sounds?? That just happens anyway.

Adam.

P.S. Almost ready...

Yaay! Here is my first composition. Well...technically not the first. But my first mapped out one with the Deacy!

I'm genuinely confused.

1. You want to get settings from the amp
2. I point out that the manual describes how to get the Brian sound (talent & other equipment allowing, of course)
3. You respond that you're looking for other sounds (apparently that's why there are controls on the amp) then take great delight in sounding like Brian.
4. I then express surprise that you went to all that trouble just to sound like Brian
5. And now you ask why someone would buy the amp if NOT to sound like Brian.

Anyway, glad you like the amp. I do recommend playing around with it, as there are some good sounds in there too, although some don't sound like Brian....

"I'm genuinely confused."

You're confusing me too!

1. I want to experiment more with different sounds from the deacy, e.g. obtaining QII sounds, Flash Gordon, MIH, etc. etc. The tone controls were included for a reason - To give us more control. It would be nice to get tips on how to get those, without spending lots of time experimenting. And ways that users are micing up the amp to gain additional types of sound.

2. Considering I own the amp, why did you think I hadn't read the manual and come across those basic settings?

3. The whole point of the amp is to create sounds from Brian's repertoire! I'm sure there are people out there with specific settings to do specific things, e.g. VBM1 set to 9o'clock on tone - 12o'clock on gain - rear pickup on guitar = QII-like lead.
That's not a real example, btw.

4. Uh...what trouble? It's a Deacy!

5. LOL

Yes, I'm happy with it. I love the sound. It's also very interesting when using both the direct and mic recordings together.
Like I mentioned, micing up the amp will give a huge range of sounds, rather than simply recording from the direct out. Then there are a HUGE amount of possibilities.

Peace,
Adam.
