My wife and younger son have had a nasty case of the stomach flu this week - but I feel like a lucky punk ...
Why? Well I was listening to a homemade compilation CD that someone had trade with a few years ago ... and I listened to four Anita Dobson songs without blowing chunks. There's no way I'll catch the stomach flu now - I've been vaccinated against the stomach flu by Anita.
I hope I didn't jynx my luck ...

Anita Dobson? Who is Anita Dobson?? :)

Hello Faye.
Anitia Dobson is Brians wife. She is a famous actress here in the UK, Brian helped her make an album a few years ago, its a pretty bad album, but some of Brians playing on it is superb. There was a hit here in the UK called 'Talking of Love' personnally I could'nt get past the second verse. But anyway theres a wee bit of info for you.

Smarmy stuff - Talking of Love, I Dream of Christmas and To Know Him Is to Love Him are listenable musically, but the lyrics are overly cutesy and nauseating.
When We Make Love has no redeeming qualities whatsoever ...
and there you have it ... my unbiased opinion.

Anita is married to Brian, what does that have to do with Queen??
I sincerely hope that liking Queen doesn't automatically mean you have to like everything their wives, girlfriends, childeren, cousins, nephews, brothers, sisters, friends, etc. do!
I heard some of these songs just once, and for me that was one time too many.

I heard one of the songs once (sounded like barking dogs or something), don't remember its name, but it was honestly one of the worst songs I ever heard that was supposed to be taken seriously. It was a fucking annoying noise.

I have never listened to an Anita Dobson song. She can't be that bad. I've heard bad. I'm pretty immune to pop stuff.

I don't like the songs, but Brian saves some of the worst of them with beautiful solos.
There are some really bad Queen songs in which he did the same. I guess the man would say: "Jee, this is really bad, I gotta save it. That's it! Save it, save it, saaaave it! I can't let this shit alooone!!!" :)
Cheers,

I disagree. A guitar solo cannot save a truly bad song.

Anita can't sing her way out of a tin can but her performances on EastEnders were fab!
Maybe Brian wore earplugs when they recorded all of those songs. Poor guy, he had to listen to all that...blinded (deafened?) by love, I guess!
