Adverts are evil...
What ARE you bleeting on about
Grow up, if you think an advert is evil you sure haven't experienced much in life

Advetrs are evil??
*LOL* That's a good one. Brian and ROger are career musicians, therefore hey mkae their money off of their music. What's the big deal with them doing a commerical? Eh, I'm with Togg - get a life.

"a simple solution
u dont like it, ignore it."
Too simple for me, plus I would not want to read a boring forum without messages about what people don't like.

Or perhaps you could say, "And the beat goes on" and list Cher.
Also, Michael Jackson, The Beatles (Songs at least), and Brian and Roger (Not including the Pepsi ad.)
It shoukd surprise noone that Queen are a commercial band (who happen make outstanding music)because there is a weekly roundup of sales on their official site!

Does anyone rememberthe ads that Alice Cooper did a few years back? The ones where he was sitting in a study wearing sweaters and the like along with his stage make-up? Those ads were great! By the way, Is this "ueen+ Pop whores" add going to air in the USA?

Brandon, are you drunk?
But I agree with you and pretty much everyone defending Queen. It's only a stupid advert, nothing to have a coronary about.
And for KEVPAR screaming that adverts are evil, I'll agree with him there. I'm in the process of becoming a graphic designer, hoping to work for an ad agency. But, it all depends on your perspective of the advertising world. If there were no advertisements, television and radio would not exist. Magazines and newspapers would not exist. While the aforementioned mediums may have been "invented", they certainly would not have the funding that large corporations can shell out to keep the mediums going strong. While we may bitch about TV being completely ridden with adverts, we have to remember that without those adverts, that particular channel would go bottom-up without the money to back it.
Now, getting back to the point - Brian, in the last few years, has effectively become the publicist for Queen: always deciding what goes on in the press, and becoming very vocal when someone contradicts or criticizes him. He refuses to admit that it's all about the money. He tends to think that, by creating an advert with three of the hottest stars and a rerecording of one of Queen's biggest hits, the band will stay mainstream and on people's minds. The musical is nice and all (strictly in terms of publicity - I haven't seen it, and don't plan on seeing it when it comes to America), but sometimes it's not enough. Not all of the music lovers of the world go to the theater, even if it is a musical based on Queen's music. Even the term "musical" will turn off some serious music lovers - I, for one, envision a horrible, "Hello Dolly!"-esque scenario being cast upon Queen, and I don't like that. However, if I'm doing something in the house, and the television is on, and 'We Will Rock You' comes blasting on, I immediately stop what I'm doing and watch. Why? Not because it's a song I've heard a million and one times before, but because it's a song by one of my favorite bands.
I won't go out and buy a Pepsi because I saw Queen on TV (I already drink Pepsi). I won't go out and buy a Nissan or a Hummer because The Who are on TV. But I will stop what I'm doing and watch, because - usually - the adverts are very creative and sometimes interesting. I still get a kick out of that go-kart Hummer commercial, all because of 'Happy Jack'.
If the commercial is done WELL, or at least has a humor about it, then I have no problem with any music being in an advert. And you have to consider how boring an advert would be without music to back up what's going on - sometimes what the commercial is selling can't be expressed by words or an announcer. You really have to keep all sorts of things in mind and realize that, while Queen (or whatever they are these days) have become corporate whores in your eyes, it's only a stupid advert.

Ahem! First off I agree in principle with KEVPAR but Queen probably needed a corporate sponsor for the musical. Despite all the ranting and raving and screamming and yelling about the Pepsi corporate "take-over". I still am glad to see the two of them (Brian and Roger)and Queen's music "out in-front" of the public and since they never really went away come the mid-section of 2004 WWRY should bring Queen to the forefront in the US once again sans Mercury.
Now before you all start cursing and throwing all kinds of epithets and other choice words at me. Remember this is America the home of Gillette Stadium, the Staples center, the Dunkin Donuts Center (in RI), the Tweeter Center (in MA) and the feast de resistance The Continental Airlines Arena (in NJ).
The musical would probably not get off the ground without PepsiCo's corporate backing.

And remember the UK leg of the Magic Tour was sponsored by Harp Larger - so the cry of 'Corporate Whores' is 18 years late.

Why would you ask if I'm drunk? *LOL*
Also, didn't Adidas chunk a lot of money Queen's way for years in turn for the band wearing their shoes and all?

I'll pass judgement when I have actually heard it. Which should be the basis for any judgement.
