Nice how Queen aren't mentioned until the absolutely last paragraph.

This thread is hilarious.

Let Kevpar have his say about this.

I personally do not care about the commercial, they can do whatever they like. I think this whole Pepsi venture is a joke, and I would have a hearty laugh when I see this advert.

I am the one that had been posting topics about the adverts, its a message board after all, its a way to keep fans informed and to create discussion. As Brandon puts it, if everyone agreed that this venture from Brian and Roger was great, this MB would be boring. Its all about listening to different points of view. Kevpar has his own, Adam you have yours, I have mine.

Nike provided crew shirts in 82, as well.

Plus, technically, Queen have previous with Pepsi - wasn't the Bo Rhap Mountain Dew ad popular though?

Interesting what we choose to dislike....

Another premiere report, with quotes from Brian and a picture of the 3 ladies with Roger in the background:

Having seen the ad earlier on tv, I have to say its not the "epic" that I expected it to be. Dont get me wrong, as an advert its not bad but its not the standard I had expected from what I gather Brian had said. As for the music, Rog's drums were OK but Brians guitar work got lost in the mix somewhere (at least it sounded that way to me). 6 out of 10 for trying.

Hi guys

Well I hope not offend anyone (virtually impossible) but I would just like to say I don't feel like Bri + Rog are selling out at all.
Why shouldn't they make a Pepsi commercial? Apart from it grossing them about £2 million quid each - what better way to advertise the launch of the WWRY musical in the states then using a global product such as Pepsi to launch it.
If anything Rog + Bri have been very astute to use this method of advertising.
And If it brings the 'Queen' name to a new generation of fans then so much the better.

Or would you just rather let the Queen name die a death. No new projects = no new fans... - Get a grip

I think it's great that the whole world are going to be hearing WWRY a lot more - hopefully that will continue to build on the "reminding" folks that Queen existed and how good their music was.

I'll stick to Coke.

I wonder why Diet Pepsi is too sweet?!

Pity he lived so short.

"As for Pepsi, well, it's great WWRY is being used to advertise it, but I won't buy Pepsi. It contains GM ingredients like Aspartame, which is poisonous and has been blamed for brain cancer, epileptic seizures, nausea, blurred vision, skin itching and a few other things. This chemical sweetner rates over 3,000 complaints to the Food and Drug Administration - the most they have ever received.
Saccharin has been PROVEN to cause bladder cancer and has been banned from general use in Canada, New Zealand and several European countries.
As for Caffeine, well that's been linked to 6 different types of cancer as well and causes birth defects in children.
Soft drinks in general cause osteoporosis, obesity, tooth decay and cancer."

Oh dear.... isn't being alive dangerous!!
The thing is, you can have all of the above, quite safe, really.
Just not ALL the time. But that goes for almost anything, right?

Variation is the magic word!

Brian and Roger have done collaborations and commercials in the previous millenium without much if any fan backlash. However, this current millenium many fans appear to be bitter about such projects. Why is that?

Perhaps the general absence in this milenium of new music and previously unreleased archive material appear to have spurred some of this "ill will".

Of course, calling commercials evil is outrageous, even by my standards.
