So, is it confirmed, that No 1 is Cliff???
That's not bad at all - good to hear Beatles/Elvis didnt top, besides Cliff was friend of Freddie. He deserves it.
I wonder what about album sales, I think Queen could took the lead.

er...I think if album sales were included you'd see The Beatles reclaim top spot and I'm not even sure if Queen would catch Cliff - he was 10 million sales ahead, and would have sold some albums himself.

P_G, I meant only album sales. In that way, I think, Queen should be in TOP 3.

God knows, mate. Quo & The Stones would also do a lot better in such circumstances.

Incidentally, thanks to whoever decided this was "news"

Some facts: Queen had 9 No 1 albums, 1 less than Stones, but much much more then Quo. Besides Queen must have at least second longest chart running (more than 1200 weeks at UK album charts), maybe even the best with a huge help of Platinum collection (about 100 more weeks at charts after it was re-released in 2002 of May). Third of all, their Greatest Hits compilations alone are sold more than 6,3 million copies in UK (Greatest Hits - 11 times platinum, Greatest hist II - 6 platinum, Greatest Hits III - 1 platinum, Greatest Hits I, II, III - 3 platinum). And dont forget about other 20 well sold albums:)

Because British people bought more Cliff Singles than Queen. Thought that was obvious. I was suprised to see Shakin' Stevens so high and after watching the programme so was he.
Guess who's back?
