People from Brazil / Portuguese tend to have a lot of last names and a lot of first names.
In Iceland entries in telephone books are sorted by first names because they don't really have family names like we have at all.

"Check the real names of Portuguese and Brazilian soccer players..."

Such as "Kaka", "Ronaldo", "Rivaldo"? I never understood if these are first names, middle names, last names or if they have only one name (because the TV always shows both names in case of all players except for those from Brazil).

Figo - Luis Filipe Madeira Caeiro
Ronaldo - Ronaldo Luis Nazario de Lima
Rivaldo - Vitor Borba Ferreira de Oliveira
Kaka - Ricardo Izecson Santos Leite

That's are nicknames (their "artistic" names), like a Elton John(Reginald Dwight) or Freddie Mercury (Farookh Bulsara) :)

So Mercury legally was their last name? (I didn´t know it)

Well someday I will change my last name and I will be Jorge Mercurio (You will call me "El Señor Chico Malo") :)
