You'd think Bush would have more important things to focus on, but apparently not.

After all, he wants to send men to Mars. To bring back photos of more rocks. You'd think we have enough photos of rocks on Mars, but the President wants us to photograph every single rock on the planet and will stop at nothing. Great going, Mr. President!

Even more important than photographs of red rocks, he MUST eliminate the threat once and for all of two people loving each other and wanting to act upon that. This heinous crime against humanity must be stamped out IMMEDIATELY!!!!

Come on. Give me a break. Bush is the one committing the crime against humanity.

What bothers me about this is that he (Bush) still hasn't explained how the 'institution of marriage' will be defended by denying the right to do so to homosexuals.

I think proposing by attempting such a drastic measure against gay marriages, Bush is going to lose himself virtually all homosexual voters (of whom 30% voted for Bush in 2000) and a lot of moderate/centrist voters (not a smart move when the next presidential election looks like being fairly cloasely run),

Anyway, it will be a good few years before this becomes law (and I doubt it will attract the required Congressional and state majorities anyway - and hurrah for that, I say).

the whole gay marrage ban is awful. and bad. and stupid. and useless. its really a shame that the presidential term is 4 years, id have liked to get rid of bush ages ago.

"On the other hand I firmly believe that homosexuals have every right to have the same rights when it comes to a partner dying and recieving all the benifits that one would if married in the traditional sense."

Been there, done that.

<< Every American i have recently spoken to can't stand the sight of George Bush or anything he stands for, who the bloody hell voted him to office? >> I can answer that... - Religious freaks - Racist people and other bigots. - Extreme right wing nuts - Narrow minded people who can't think outside the box. Perhaps the reason why you haven't spoken to them, is because they're so stupid that they don't even know how to use a computer.

That's certainly one theory.

Or, as I suspect, the average American Queen fan simply did not vote for him. Those that follow a "homosexual band" were not the targeted demographic of the Bush campaign. I suspect there are a few Queen fans that did, but after coming on QZ and reading posts like Danny's, they probably don't want to bring it up.
