As far as I understand, today's AIDS medications just prolong the inevitable. You still experience the decline of health, but it's just a slower process. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Now maybe I'm stupid but I've always thought that if you're HIV positive, you will simply remain HIV positive until you die, there's no way to get rid of the virus. In most cases HIV develops into AIDS, in some cases it doesn't. In Freddie's case it did, in Jim's case didn't. Current medicine can make your life with AIDS longer (10 more years for example) but that's about it.

Thats right Martin, Some people with the virus do get Aids, and some people don't.


And it's a fact that a lot of white people are immune for the virus.

The only time I heard about people who were immune to the virus was on tv in a documentary about a group of black prostitutes in Nairobi.
I hope someone will find out how that can be, and that they can use that info to develop a vaccin/cure.

Aids is very underestamated these days, people think to lightly of it. It's still very dangerous, no matter how long you can live on with the proper medication. And nobody knows why one person develops aids rapidly and the other person is hiv infected without getting aids for years.

I think it's shocking how many people have sex without protection. They complain about smoking, things in food etc. that migh cause cancer, etc. etc. but they have no problem with un-safe sex. There are also quite a few other diseases you can get infected with through sex. And those diseases can also be life threatening.

Maybe immune was the wrong word, I meant that it's a fact it's harder for white people (especially white males) to get aids
