How does this work then?
Being a newbie I've generally stayed away from these threads, because whenever I looked at them they seemed either to be a big argument, or a complete out and out war...

I want them so much too... but how does this "tree" work?
I'd like to know what is exactly a Bootleg Tree. I know there's been a Bootleg Tree some time ago, but I don't exactly know what it is.
If it something like sharing bootlegs, if I haven't got any bootleg, am I able to get that bootlegs?
Someone explain please!

Count me in as well!!!
For the ones who don't know how a bootleg-tree works:
1 person sends out some bootlegs (3 cd's in this case I thought). He or she sends them to a number of people. When those people receive their cd's they make a copy of them, and send these copies to 2 (or maybe 3) other persons that participate in the tree. And so on....... That's the whole idea!

In that case, if the cost is simply the postage onto the next person, count me in!
DO I email the person my snail mail addy or what? Sorry to be so dense.

What must I do to participate in the Tree?
Del Pietro has the right idea. Basically a bootleg tree only costs postage and copying costs, so usually no more then $5. Someone sends you the discs, you make copies, then send them on to another person. In the past it really doesn't matter where you are located in the world, as the trees have reached every continent.
Bullwinkle will probably tell you later today how to contact him. I'm sure he'll post what information he needs from everyone then.

Not wanting to be rude but I feel the best way to work a vine is to only do it is as follows:
1) first very kind person makes dics of the bootleg
2) first very kind person sends the discs on to first person who has signed up
3) First person who signed up gets the discs in the post
4) First person who signed up copies the discs (to hard drive, on to cd - its their choice)
5) First person who signed up send the original discs on to the second person who signed up
6) Repeat steps 3 onwards for as many people who have signed up.
This process is slower but is far cheaper (there's no multiple sending out costs or discs costs) and if there is need for speed then more than one vine can be run seperately.
