Not Long to the Convention

Anyone going to this years convention

Only four weeks or so away can't wait - gonna be great - missed last years and that was the first missed in 12 years

Great weekend, great music, great people and more importantly LOTS and LOTS OF BEER !!!!

I'll be there. Ahh the John Deacon Fan Club. You can rely on a number of things at conventions

1. Everyone will say this is the last one.
2. A mad Welsh bloke with a mullet will prance around the dance-floor like Freddie at 10am while the "Queen Aerobics" is on.
3. You always spot the ends of society wearing ill-fitting Queen T-Shirts from 1984.
4. You pay extortinate bar-prices.
5. Every second person seems to be Dutch
6. The John Deacon Fan club will be royally pissed up.

Is it too late to book?

I was going to go but my mate let me down so will have to go on my own :(

Anybody ever done one of those 'share' things where they pair you up with somebody else?

I have to agree. I was there with friends last year, and there was beer everywhere, erverytime !! lol

Alas, I won't be attending the convention either which I'm sure you're all mortally distressed to hear.

I can't sleep in those shit-hole chalets at my time of life. I can't have my bed in the same room as the kitchen, for goodness sake. Not to mention hearing the bloke next door tuning his bowels each morning. Plus the complaints from the neighbours about the noise of my banging headboard tends to grate after a while.

Make sure someone buys Banquo a pint. He's a damned fine egg and I hope he gets his leg over.

You've never seen the women at Conventions have you Flashy? Getting my leg over needs a barrel of lager and temporary blindness. Having said that things could be different this year. And I'll agree about the pint for me, I'll be the one in the Preston North End shirt falling over.

I think it might be the Preston shirt that is blowing your chances in the legover department, young Banquers - not the ale.
I suppose its alright for cleaning up with afterwards, but its never going to be the world's greatest minge magnet, let's face it.

Mr Zombie - au contraire - a bunch of students shouting drunkenly and wearing orange wigs, delivering their interminable once-funny version of Angels, and writing RT reviews for the Bury Times are generally more easy to spot that an untattooed average bloke wandering around marvelling at the levels of stupidity exhibited by the receivers of the best education money can buy.

Yeah, and one of you dickheads kindly elbowed me in the throat when you were 'larking about' at the September party in Reading a few years back. I can accept high jinks, but that bloody hurt and you didn't even notice you'd done it!

Not all the women who go there are that bad PG! I've been going for a few years now, and I look alright!

I had trouble sleeping last year - pregnant, and unable to drink alcohol, plus sleeping was dificult anyway.


This year however, I'm having a break, leaving partner babysitting, hence no transport.
