I completely resent the above post.
However, girls tend to backstab more than boys- thats how one moves up on the female social ladder. If you don't want to be backstabbed, don't tell anyone anything and, for gods sake- don't try to help anyone! (civilization? who said anything about that?)

My new mantra: never, ever, if you can possibly help it, be the bearer of bad news.
What you need to know is that however good your intentions are, with something like this nobody ever, ever thanks you. It's not worth your effort. Your 'friends' sound like they have mental ages of about 12, and the best thing you can do is to say sod them and move onto some greener fields. They'll get over it eventually.
Also, realise that when you make it to college you should have no trouble making friends because by that stage most people have grown up enough to put that sort of silly pettiness far behind them :-)
