John would have retired in late 80's if it wasn't for Freddie's illness. There's NO way the band would be together in, say, 1995.

I wasn't particularly aiming it at you just to 'fuckwits' that write about the musical without having see it.
But I might as well have been writing about you because you just displayed you own 'level of intelligence' but using the wonderful cover all 'stepford' a phase that gets spurted out here usually by people that have no clue as to its origin.
Dear me, why can you not understand that I am talking about the many people on this site that simply love to critic the musical just because it's cool to do so, if anything should be called 'stepford' than running with the cool pack should be it. Never mind go back to the play ground.
Bangs head against wall!

Just re-read your original post, and where does it talk about the musical?
So why are you getting upset? Why do you assume I was talking about you?
Seem to me everyone on this site claims to be either a musician or a web designer, who here has actually earned their living at either? I think the list has suddenly dropped somewhat, and before you shout, yes becomming a professional does make a huge difference, if you only have yourself to please you can claim to be anything, but if you have a paying client its a very different situation.

"I wasn't particularly aiming it at you just to 'fuckwits' that write about the musical without having see it. "
But you used word "shitty" used by me (you used it as a quote) begining your rant; therefore it's easy to assume- it's an answer to my previous post... You're right here, I didn't mention the musical, but... DID ANYONE...? What the hell this rant was THEN about...? Re-read your post and tell me again than it wasn't at all aimed at me... At whom then...?
...whatever... Bangs the head against the wall as well...
Togg, I don't give a flying monkey about what's cool and what's not... Apoparently listening to Robbie Williams is actually supposed to be cool, isn't it...? Don't care what the others claim, don't care how the others defend their views etc.- all I know is that is music is not only a part of my life, but IS my life... If I turned deaf tomorrow I would lose everything- not only hearing- EVERYTHING... I'm a vocalist and of course, you can't buy my record in HMV or Tower, not yet I hope:) But does it make any difference...? Does it mean that I know less about music or I feel (or think) the wrong way...? Not sure...
When I'm saying "shitty" or "bad" or anything it just simply mean IMO, doesn't it...? It's not THE TRUTH, one and only and I'm not even trying to say- I'm a musician so I know what's shitty and what's not... What I'm saying is: I'm a fan of music as anyone else, and some things are "shitty" for me (Robbie for instance) and some are cool (for example Metallica- and it's not so cool to listen to it since 1991, is is...?)- that's just my opinion, not the general truth...; by saying I'm a musician all I'm trying to do is to say how much I love music and how much of idealist I am, that's all... By saying that IMO sth is "shitty" I just mean that I don't feel that it's honest... or I just simply don't like and undestand it...

In my opinion Queen would have never split up officially.Freddie would have made some great collaborations (as he did), so Brian and ROger, but every 2-3 years some new Queen stuff would have been released :) for our joy.
And of course in 2004 they couldn't make a Wembley gig running for the stage, but they would have created some GREAT show in some other way!!

I think the post you made just came at a moment when I was / am fed up with reading peoples comments about subjects they clearly have no or little knowledge of.
It WAS your comment on 'shitty things' that provoked my reaction but it was NOT aimed at you, It was a general comment, if you read what I put you will see that my comment was if fact aimed at people that like to jump on the band wagon and pan the musical, but have never seen it.
In that instance I firmly believe they have NO opinion that can be judged to have any worth. I don't care what they think about it, if they have seen it.
You are correct, your opinion is just that, and I don't have an issue with it.
All I am saying is to judge something you have to experience it to have a valid view point, and too many people in too many posts on this site open their mouths without having any knowledge of what they are speaking of.

Fine, misunderstanding solved...:)

Couldn't agree more; simply couldn't agree more...
OK, let's leave this bloody (now I think literally...:) wall...

Opinions are like arseholes everyones got one! Rumours of Queen splitting had been around from 77 onwards I remember one paper at the time saying Champions was there farewell song!
John leaving well I couldn't see it really but what do I know I still think the other three would have carried on and probably Freddie would have persuaded him to stay.

It's great to speculate.[/QUOTE]
Indeed it is great to speculate, but do keep in mind, there certainly wouldn't have been an Innuendo as it was, because that stuff was mostly written with Freddie's situation in mind.

Yep :) That's why I made sure to put in would be different..there are some songs on Innuendo where I can't really see the connection.. Bijou, The Hitman, I can't live with You (unless he's singing about AIDS).
But certainly.
Some times I like listening to the current techno-hip hop-trance-flip hop-stomp-fromp-house-acid music and imagine Freddie singing them...like that 'I don't want you back song'
It still would be great for Freddie to be alive, to have people say 'That gay? Didn't he sing (enter Greatest Hits I/II song)? What a gay?' instead of 'That dead gay? Didn't he sing (enter Greatest Hits I/II song)? What a gay?
I'd also like to be able to tell me kids 'I remember when the 87 year old Freddie Mercury fell off the stage and screamed 'Oh God! Fuck me God' Roger has prosthetic limbs, John is on life support and Brian has Nurse Betty to help him stand up now. Roger and Nurse Betty will send out wedding invitations next week.
I guess I'm bitter that I was too young to remember A Kind of Magic/The Miracle and Innuendo coming out. Anywho...carry on.

I think they would have split after the magic tour yeah. Probably would have got back together, Eagles style, but would have gone seperate ways for a while I think. If not after Magic, definitely after Miracle, which is too shabby in places for a great band really.

Jeff Payne you are totally right Wembley Stadium was demolished in 03 and will not be finished unti 05/06 so there is NO WAY they would have played it in 04!
Queen would have still been around today but I think we would have only probably got another couple of albums from the ones we've already got. As for tours who knows but I reckon there would have at least been the occasional BIG show! But eh who knows and unfortunatly it doesn't really matter does it!

In my opinion the following would've probably happened:
- John would've left after the Magic Tour, during the recording for the follow-up of A Kind of Magic and the planning of the tour. He doesn't want to be away from his family for months again.
- Brian might have finished his first solo-album a lot earlier , and spent less & less time on Queen and focusing more on becoming known as a solo-artist.
- Freddie had a lot of solo-success after the AKOM tour with both Barcelona and the Great Pretender so he would probably focus on more solo-recordings too.
- Roger probably would've spent more & more time on the Cross. Most of MBADTK was written by the rest of the band while RT was working on The Miracle and Blue Rock was recorded while Queen were working on the follow-up to Innuendo....
