TOFBRA IS COMPLETE!

Hey, I want my site to get a thousand hits instantly, I want my site to run out of its monthly bandwidth! I too want Brian May to bash me :-P C'mon Mr. May, love isn't blind, its deaf too! You and you're wife are the living proof. You have the fashion sense of a football-hooligan and you got some fixation for your mother (I've heard Love Token and Mother Love...) Freak.

Seriously though, Chancellor etc, could you please tell me how many hits you've gained from this "publicity?"

Right, well, finally having had a look at the offending site (now that it let me) I think I'd have to say that I haven't a clue what Brian is whinging about and if he wants to see something really offensive to have a gander at NastyQueen.
Smells like PR people to me.

I personally like the TOFRA-site very much. It's humor and funny. But I can imagine that there are some people that don't like it. Well not everbody likes the same book either, so I you don't like it, shut it down and never visit it again.
Everywhere on the site are warnings that all of it is fiction! Nothing of it is true, however....it gets you thinking.

TOFRA-people go on with your site and make some more funny stuff!
Anyway I'm checking your site almost daily for updates and have spend many hours reading it.

So he didn't like the site. Get over it. We all have our opinions and we're all expected to accept them, but when Brian voices his opinion on things, suddenly it's not fair.

It's his opinion, leave it alone. I checked the said site and found it pretty boring. Funny? Humourous? Nah.

As for how much traffic weve gained, the site averaged 20 hits a day (which surprised me). Since Brian posted his complaint early yesterday morning we've had 427 hits, and it's been a little over a day.

And, according to a post above, we've gained a fan. I think this backfired, personally.

I was thinking about this and it strikes me as odd that Brian's complaints were about design and not the content...

And I'm confused as to what he's refering to when he says we ripped off "some of [his] little inventions."

This is going too far, really. It's a parody and Brian's being pissy. Jimmy May even took the link to TOFBRA off his site yesterday. That seems petty, as does the us getting kicked off of both the BrianMay and WeWillRockYou Yahoo groups with no notification of this, or even a reason why.

It's stupid. I can't even visit my own site any more. I'll update in a week or so, instead of to-morrow, because it hardly seems good to update when the people who actually want to go are being shut out by all the people who are going just to see what pissed Brian off this time.

What happened to freedom of speech? Personally I think the whole argument is childish. I may not like what your site has as content but you have a right to say what you want despite what everyone (including BM) thinks. If anything it's a back handed compliment.

The oddest thing is that his complaint was over the design and not the content.

The Soapbox is only a small portion of the site. The overall site design is nothing like his. Brian, for once, is being used, I feel.

What Brian thinks is Brian's opinion...I just had to stop and wonder what Roger thought as well...

Actually, I understand that Brian is angry. Maybe even hurt. I did not read much of the website but I looked at "Big Bummer" and you don't need to be oversensitive to be offended if you are presented as a ridiculous cartoon character and the joke is mostly on your wife and your marriage. You think Brian has to swallow it because he is rich and famous and it's not the first time it happened but compared to the offense he really did not say that much.

Personally, I think that Brian should not comment on his soap box when he is offended by a website but of course he has every right to do so. I think it's not the same if he gets angry about a poll or a website full of mockery about himself, his wife, his marriage and his friends.

I fully understand he felt offended. Although it may be true that Anita is far from being attractive and Brian looks silly in shorts, I don't think it's fair to write such things on a web site.

On the other hand, he seemed to be offended more by the design than the content which is strange. And advertising the site in his soapbox did more harm to him than if he kept quiet. Normally I wouldn't visit this site at all but when I read about it in the soapbox, I simply HAD to visit it :-)

Last time I looked I thought that the site may have been amusing to some but was not necessarily to my taste, fair enough. Except after reading YV's comments about Big Bummer I agree with her on that one - I understand that it's trying to be funny but there's a fine line between parody and utter unfairness. Particularly with the Julie jab in Ep 1.
Mind you, the man was still a fool to advertise the site and I still don't think his "Bad Fans" comment was entirely justified.
And I still maintain that putting fatty in there was a master stroke :-)

I find it odd that Brian gets angry with a small group of people making fun, tasteful or not, of him on a previously unknown website yet he seems to think its ok to let William Hung "sing" We Are The Champions." I guess if the TOFBRA people paid Brian to allow them to make fun of him then it'd be ok?

Now I am not sure if Brian has any say or thinks it is ok for William Hung to "sing" and profit off of WATC or not. But I can't help but to think that if he didn't want it to happen, it wouldn't happen. Or at the very least there'd be a comment on his soapbox displaying his disappointment in Hung covering and profiting off the song. It is on Hung's album that he is selling right?

I'm not saying that Brian shouldn't have feelings and not be hurt about the TOFBRA folks poking at him but with as long as he's been in the business, you'd think he would learn to ignore what he doesn't want to see or hear or atleast act like he is ignoring it. If you don't feed the fire, it eventually burns out right?
