I am currently remixing MLHBS and it'll be getting real drums from my brother. Possibly some piano from my other brother. I'll also be redoing most of the guitar stuff, so it'll be quite different.
Btw, Inu, who sings/plays what in this plan?
And no, I won't be offering tracks for DD5.1 etc. Like I said, it's not something I want to do.
As for possible software to use, I've begun using VegasVideo5 for music as well. It's very effective, actually. And maybe you'd like Wavelab5 for its mastering abilities.
Ah, maybe it's not. But it's still worth knowing about.
As for giving stuff to work on... I'm actually working on a big dvd project right now, so I'm very busy. Music is secondary right now.
Peace,
Adam.

My idea is that, if it were to be a one-band situation instead of multiple artists like there is in Stage of Champions, I would be definitely doing drums and some vocals, you can do some vocals and guitar, and Guitar Hero, of course, can do a lot of the guitar parts.
I might play bass as well, but I'd need tabs (can't read chords or notes unfortunately), but then I'd rather have a "professional" bass player off of this board to do the bass parts, and I don't know who can play bass here.
If it's a multiple artist - slash - collaborative thing here, then it's less of a problem.
But as for someone to do the mixing, I wouldn't mind if people mixed their own stuff, as long as I end up with multitracks on CD/DVD in WAV format so that I can make stereo and surround sound mixes, and make any necessary last-minute post-production mixing if needed.
What I need though is, again, a DTS encoder that will encode at high DVD standard. Dolby is no problem, in effect, but I prefer DTS to Dolby.
(But hey Adam, if you want me to send you a demo DVD of surround sound mixes, feel free to ask)

Oh, I kinda missed the "plays what" part of the question! >D
My part consists of several things.
For one, I will be managing and over-seeing the whole project, which again may be called (the CD itself) "The Road To The Stage Of Champions". And I will make sure QueenOnline doesn't get involved - I want it to be a QZ thing.
What is recorded, it's not entirely up to me, although I will make suggestions and requests of course. I will, however, ask that all songs be sent to me (multitracked over CD-R's or DVD-R's in WAV format for Windows (XP)) so that I can listen to them, and make any necessary changes, mixes, or edits, e.g. changes to make the songs fit on CD. (This is why I need the songs in several multitracked wave files, as well as a stereo master, so that if I need to change something, that I don't end up changing more than I want to)
I may also remix the songs for 5.1, depending if I can get the software I want/need.
And once the songs are all put together, I will make a CD-R master, and once I find a local CD pressing plant (that also does labels) I will send the CD to be pressed onto several new CD's.
I may or may not take care of the cover artwork. I do have a basic cover I already put together of a shot from the 46664 concert DVD of the stage with loads of people in the audience in front of it, with a good view, but I am not the best in graphics. If anyone would like to take care of the cover artwork, please let me know. I will take care of the text (and maybe pictures) inside the CD booklet itself (and I will be asking people who participate for a lot of information pertaining to the recordings - will explain later...)
And then once the CD's are pressed and the booklets printed, I will set a release date and a website to order the CD's from. As for payment, for now I can confirm that PayPal will be the main preferred method of payment, but I may also set up a postal box address to mail money orders to.
So basically, I will be taking care of most everything except the recording sessions, which I will definitely only have a partial role in.
EDIT: I will also, of course, distribute the profits to 46664, since they NOW accept money orders. I will have to subtract part of the sales to cover media production costs, unfortunately, because I can't see myself covering production costs.
Oh, as well, I might ask Smash to use his remix on the CD (which I may need him to send me a CD master for - I don't like using MP3's as master sources).
I MIGHT also put out the New York remix as an independent CD-Single release, also to raise money towards 46664 with as well, but the only thing is it won't be reflected in the music charts of course since it'd be an independent release :P. But either way, just to get the single release you guys were clamouring for :)
Anyways, I want to officially start this project in September/October, although some parts may be done over July and August. I want to aim for a Summer 2005 release.
I think before you go gallavanting off on a space trip, Inu, you should realise that it will NOT be as easy as you think to make and distribute this cd. Read this - http://www.onlinerock.com/howto/coversong.shtml
I doubt you'll want to go through that. I know I won't.
Peace,
Adam.
Hmm. Interesting read.
Thanks Adam, I will go over it more when I get to Ontario in a few days.
