But he did play on a number of songs in the studio

He also played the electric guitar...you can hear on the 'How do you think I'm gonna getta along' ... stanza?

And the piano too.

And the drums.

And he sang the song.

Well..not really but he should've.

Makies sense really - John plays a much much funkier rhythm guitar than Brian, who appears to have the complex rhythmical qualities of my front lawn.

And before you all jump on me, I'm only talking about the difference in ability in rhythm guitar. I understand that Mr May is quite well known for being a startlingly good soloist, once upon a time.

You say most, but there are a fair few of us who think the kidney version can't be beaten.

As a matter of fact Brian`s sense of rhythm is not extremely well developed. I like his funky rhythm in `Brighton Rock` though, for me that`s his best show-off as a rhythm guitarist. Roger referred to John in 1985 as "the best rhythm guitarist" in a Japanese magazine and pointed that he had played in some songs in `Strange Frontier`. I`d love to know which ones were...
John hated Hot Space. Frederick's favourite singer was not Paul Rodgers. Roger didn't compose 'Innuendo.' 'Bohemian Rhapsody' hasn't got 180 vocal overdubs.

That's the second time you've jumped to Dr Bri's defence when I have suggested he may be somewhat less than perfect...these are my opinions...you obviously have your sycophantic ones.

<<...a kind of magic...>> Very well done. Subconciously putting a Queen song in there. heh :) John was originally a guitarist, correct? So I would imagine he'd keep some of the fundamental techniques of electric guitar playing. Plus his hair gave him special powers all the time, so there!
