Hi Guys,
Being a bit of a girly swot I must confess to being a reader of the Observer (British Sunday broadsheet - left of centre - for those of you who don't know). Each month they have a music supplement. This month they polled a load of musicians and industry people for their favourite albums and compiled them into a top 100. Brian particpated...
1 - Abbey Road - the Beatles
2 - Led Zepplin - Led Zepplin
3 - Fire and Water - Free
4 - Temperance Seven - Temperance Seven
5 - Gloriana - The Courtly Dances - Julian Bream
6 - Blues Breakers - John Mayall with Eric Clapton
7 - Truth - Jeff Beck
8 - Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath
9 - It's All About - Spooky Tooth
10 - Mott - Mott the Hoople
The strangest thing about the top 100 list though is the total absence of Queen....

Reading the Observer, of all things, ain't a sign of being a 'swot', as you put it. On the contrary, it is a sign that your political views are shallow, your world outlook inhibited and your common sense practically non-existent.
However, as you're a bit of a sort, I'll forgive you. And thanks for the list.

I don't believe that this could possibly be Brian's list.
There's not one single Hendrix album included.

WHy Mr Flashman Sir - I haven't been called a "bit of a sort" for many years now...
Indeed my political views are shallow, and as you rightly point out I have no common sense. However the Observer is fairly good at lining my cat's litter tray, and for using to clean the windows.
I was shocked by Brian's list too - there ain't an album on there less than 30 years old!!! No wonder we only ever get remakes of WWRY - he hasn't heard any new music since March 12 1992

Putting his old all-time favs in the top 10 doesn't mean he never listens to current music, in fact, his ramblings on the soapbox show he very well does.

That's my girl! And you're definitely a sort in my book. I'll lend it you sometime.
Why have I hardly heard of any of these?
