In terms of the Japanese 2001 releases, it was recommended to me to only go for the pre-Hot Space remasters, as they are clearly better than the older versions. Will the new UK ones be the same way? And will there be anything on these cds besides the regular album tracks?

I liked the 2001 Japanese remasters as well. It was a plus the way the spines showed QUEEN DIGITAL REMASTERS as a nice way to identify them (it helps when you have both domestic and import versions in your CD collection, believe me!). I'll see how the new set will do, but don't know if I should go to the expense of buying yet more "remastered" versions. I'm happy with the 2001 ones!

the new 2004 editions use the 2001 masters, so there is no diff in sound quality. The only diff between the 2001 and 2004 issues is the packaging

Im getting more confused now... I read somewhere that the label for the June 12 issues is Toshiba, which might mean that the cds wíll be imported from Japan
I think I better wait two/three more weeks instead of speculating :)

I think they're meaning the cardboard LP sleeve repros that came out earlier this year. The new ones come out next month but are available at different websites for preorder.

Now, this is bloody highway robbery -- I got mine directly from Japan for $35 US dollars -- why the huge jump in price, I wonder...?
