My friend just told me she got an email saying that the SNL that Queen were musical guests on will be on after the usual 11:30 SNL on Saturday night. I just checked the SNL website and it didn't say anything so I hope it's true!

That would be the one.. funny they mention Chevy and not Danny though. Before someone asks what 'All Night' means, that's what NBC calls their overnight schedule.. it doesn't mean _this_ show will literally be on all night :-P
Anyway, it's great news because they show the complete original 90 minute episodes, unlike the recent Comedy Central reruns.

I have to figure out my VCR. I'm so used to a DVD player by now that recording on a VCR has kind of escaped me. Since the TV that has the VCR is next to my parents' room, I have to keep it low or on mute. Is it okay to keep it on mute while recording? Will there be sound?

OMG, this is so funny! I love that some people are still confused about stuff like this :)
Erica, you have to understand that a VCR is self-contained.. if it's getting a signal from its tuner, or cable box, or however it works for you, then it's recording the audio and video, in color. Some people used to ask stuff like.. if I watch it on a black & white TV, will it record black & white.. hehe.
Your TV doesn't even need to be on. The TV is just a monitor. So yes, you can have the TV on mute and it won't affect it :)
Edit: There needs to be a tape in it though, and put the record speed to 'SP' for best quality and get a new tape.. you'll have plenty of extra time.
And when you set a timer, start it a minute earlier and give it a couple minutes extra at the end. Stuff is never exactly on time these days.
