I've got two questions for you:
1. Does the 'The Eye' videogame contain the artwork book and the extra CD or are the game and the book two seperate releases?
2. Which version of the 11.05.1985 Tokyo gig has the best sound quality (e.g. Nihon, Tokyo 1985, Fleur du Mal)?

The book + promo cd were seperately available. I think most 11.05.1985 releases have the same quality, because they are all taken from the official laserdisc.
I like the Nihon version!

No No No there's a variation of resources off the Tokyo 1985 gig. Most of the early releases were taken from the LP. There are some uncutted Lp's availble these contain the uncut mother tape , but do also not feature the solo part.
Le Fleur du Mal is one of the better sound recordings of this show. Bt I'd doubt that one of them was taken from the laserdisc, I think they're all taken from the vinyl sources or from various generation tapes.
The one that was taken from the brazilian DVD or perhaps the Laserdisc is : WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS 2cd from Letland, or russia, this one has oveerall the best sound but misses SSOR.
Why are you looking for this show anyway ? Freddie voice is bad, the master recording isn't that good, and the show is edited!? You'de better look out for the LAST STAND Cd (osaka 1985-05-15) in ex sound and a great (complete) show!!

The eYe boxset contains a full-colour instruction book of the game (beautiful illustrations!) and the boxed set of the five CDRs, each in its own sleeve. Getting as scarce as the FM Solo Collection!

It's a bargain indeed, FBG. I reckon you're in for a treat. The CD is hardly amazing (unlike some other promotional footage of The Eye, which was shown on TV), but the book's wonderful and showed how good the game could've become, as it was assembled roughly two years before the game was finally released (after endless problems and delays) in seriously altered form (compared to the original plans as shown in the book).
As far as I remember, the tie-ins (Art, Secrets, Novel) were actually released long before the game came out. Can anyone confirm this ?

It's still a good game, but it could've been so much better. When it was announced in 1996 it was going to be a ground-breaking state-of-the-art product on the field of computer-gaming and it would've probably been, but by 1998 many of it's technical features had been done before and it didn't get much attention.

The Tokyo show is a sound board recording, the Osaka gig isn't. Was there an official LP release of Final Live in Japan?!? In my opinion the best sound quality came from the official laser disc rather than from an LP...

But is surely not the best show queen performed, the sound is bad,though it's a soundboard and freddie's voice is also very bad! Though I think that the works tour was one of the badest tours of queen, it simply doesn's have the heavy rock in it! But what a great stage!

They were! There was a LOT of hype for this game, called "the first of its kind". The Secrets book has long been out of print, as has the Novel. I received a catalog yesterday from Nina's Discount Oldies and they have the hardcover book (Art) on sale for $3.95 on clearance! I know! I just got into LaserDiscs, and I have to say that, while it's not AS good as DVD's (or at least the one's I've seen so far), it's certainly a very good and very interesting video format.
Kinda wish I had a better LD player though; my player won't switch between sides on CLV discs anymore, but it will on CAV discs, which is odd. Also, mine didn't come with a remote and so also doesn't have any ways of skipping between chapters, which pisses me off cos if I want to go to a scene that is in the middle of or near the end of the disc, I have to hold the fast forward/rewind jog to fast forward until I get to the scene, which takes a bit.
But the nice thing about LD's is that, yes, you can transfer them to DVD and usually not have to worry about Macrovision.
