I'd rather go and buy Hot Space and listen to that - U2, and Bono in particular, iritate me endlessly.

They're, at best, bland. Never really adored more than a handful of their songs, and I dislike that they get so much credit.

Also, I generally dislike bands who get popular by using their music to make political statements, so that everyone who agrees with that statement buys their albums. (Cranberries do this a bit as well.) Like Michael Moore, who is a terrible director, but gets cash by making docus about things many people agree on.

I can see that the hatred towards U2 is most likely based on Bono's arrogance. Same reason why people hate Oasis so much based mainly on the attitude of the Gallaghers... although I have to say that Oasis wasn't really good and most of their songs were Beatles rip-offs.

During the early 90s he called U2 "the biggest band on the planet" at a time when Guns N' Roses, Metallica, and Nirvana were without a doubt more popular than U2.

Perceived arrogance. Perhaps U2 make some of you feel guilty that they are doing charity/politcal work and you are not? I've noticed Queen fans generally don't like "political" bands. Not very open-minded but then again, there's no accounting for taste...

Oh she's off again.

Have you had a sense of humour bypass Holly2003?

I wouldn't say Bono was arrogant, or claim he's too political. in fact i applaud his humanitarian work. I simply dont like their music at all.

I don't really mind Bono using his fame and status to try and influence politcal and religious leaders, just as long as I don't have to listen to him. Which mostly, I don't.

I'm OK with Bono singing as long as he doesn't do falsettos. He sounds fuckin' horrible.

Never liked 'em and hated them even more after 46664.

Bono and Beyonce cure AIDS, heart disease and wipe out famine! Oh and some other guys played at the concert but you know, they're old or have Islamic names.

*applauds*

Yeah, the media coverage of 46664 on this side of the pond was awful! Bono and Beyonce got all the attention and credit, while Queen and Stewart were barely mentioned. Typical pop culture.

I don't like them that much, but i've only heard a few songs, so can't say I have much of an opinion.

I liked U2 in the beginning, 80's, but got really tired and fed up with them. It's always the same sound, and I do not like Bono's attitude.

And 1000 times more valuable.
