Okay, I find this very important. A good song has got to have a good, strong bassline.
I like the basslines in the seventies, they sound so melodic. Well my favourite basslines are the one in Liar, The Millionaire Waltz, Bicycle Race and the one in Radio GaGa (this one is not from the seventies but what the heck, it's good:P).
What's your favourite bassline?
John: "It's the one thing I wish I could do - sing."
Probably `39 - double bass but on stage it`s electric bass. Teo Torriate is great too
John hated Hot Space. Frederick's favourite singer was not Paul Rodgers. Roger didn't compose 'Innuendo.' 'Bohemian Rhapsody' hasn't got 180 vocal overdubs.
Oh, damn I forgot one, I think that Sail Away Sweet Sister has also got a fantastic bassline, especially at the end of the song!! Deaky you're the best!
John: "It's the one thing I wish I could do - sing."
I'm Going Slightly Mad, Radio Ga Ga, Dragon Attack
Live life to the full!
Long Away, Dragon Attack, Don't Try Suicide, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, and of course, Another One Bites The Dust.

The verse riff that John plays in Flick Of The Wrist rarely seems to be mentioned.

It's one of the most interesting little licks he ever played, if you ask me. Very different to anything he normally did, and definitely not what you'd instinctively think to do if your job was to come up with a bass-line for that song.

The best bassline is definitely in Another one bites the dust... who doesn't recognise that one..... :D
"Fuck them darling, if they just don't get it!" Freddie Mercury
Liar, Under Pressure, and Another One Bites The Dust.
