...with that 'Gimme Gimme Gimme... Fried Chicken!" line.

Although quite tongue in cheek, I have to say that it ruins the song. It can be funny for a while, but I just feel like it's too silly. Especially keeping in mind that 'One Vision' is not a funny song at all except for that line.

No!
"Listen to them. Children of the night. What music they make."
Actually I like this song a lot and I never experienced any emotional repulsiveness towards the chicken ending! ;-)
no
Freddie: "Yes, we'll have a great big cock fly over the crowd!" Roadies: "Yeah! Great Idea!" Freddie: "And it will fly into a great big mouth with a moustache!"
I wish they added this line in the song:
'...one dump, one turd, two tits, John Deacon...
...one prawn, one shrimp, one clam, one chicken!'

That's nice!!! :-P
John: "It's the one thing I wish I could do - sing."
If the whole song was tongue in cheek with those lines that Rick mentioned, it wouldn't be as bad.

I've never really minded it, but I agree, it wouldn't have been so out of place if those other lines had been added.
Resistance is futile. You are now an orb.
It's more like a subliminal message I think since most people just assumed they said "one vision"....
"I have no time for Time magazine. Or Rolling Stone." Jethro Tull
I think its quite a nice twist on the lyric, especially to go out on :)
"I'm going up Buchanan Street With a box of fireworks And two bottles of Tizer"
Good question! Erm, yes part of me almost regrets that they didnt do one straight up version and a seperate piss about version, cos both have good sides. one vision might have been an even better 'power' song if they had kept it straight.
What do you mean ruined ?? :-S

It's just a tribute to the worlds most nicest guy
"On the first day Pim & Niek created a heavenly occupation. Pim & Niek blessed it and named it 'Loosch'." (Genesis 1:1)
It's hilarious. No changing it ...
"As to a martini, I'm willing and able, But only make it two at most. Three martinis, I'm under the table -- Four, and I'm under the host!"
I never felt Freddie's sense of humour ruined any Queen songs. In fact, I think his humour helped save the band from becoming too stagnant. The early albums are great albums, but Queen definately became like no other "rock" band with songs like Leroy Brown, Lazing On A Sunday Afternoon, Seaside Rendezvous, Millionaire Waltz. I, personally, am glad that Freddie brought a sense of humour to the band. Everybody wants to criticize Delilah, but that song is so typically Freddie that I don't see what the big deal is. Rambled a bit, I know, but the "fried chicken" line is just as good as "chicken-feed, babe" and "one god, one sex position" from the spoof studio take. It's all in fun.
"I'm a greedy bitch!"
"Does anyone feel like Queen ruined 'One Vision'?"

Hardly!
"Elton John and I became really good friends. I don't mean 'good friends' in that sense. I just mean we slept together." -Billy Joel
How can they ruin their own song? I don't mind the fried chicken line at all, btw.
