Top 5 of newbie questions

I love to suft into Queenzone daily. I'm just sick and tired of all those "experts" claiming to know everything just because they have 2,000,000 posts to their names.....
I mean, the main idea of the board is to have fun and have a place to share or learn or just to have fun. That's the great thing about this places!
I would only ask people (like Fried Chicken or Pim Derks for example)to take it ease on people.
We already know that you know ALL the answers!!
Just keep this thing an "easy going" board...

If a question appears radically dumb,it's quite simple really,don't retaliate!Let the other members that have enough descency to give a sincer respond.It still boggles me when some people feel obligated to answer a question with sarcastic remarks,which honestly they can just easely ignore it.Oh,how ironic...I just made the same mistake.

I'm a 'newbie' - big deal. This is only my 2nd post. But I do have a question, and I don't think it's a stupid question: Who here has had the opportunity to meet any of the band members? I met Brian in 1991 (and almost got fired from my job the very same day because of it). Was this in some thread eons ago? (Frankly, I just don't care to go looking through the archives.)

Personally, I actually enjoy all the sarcastic remarks said by Pim and Fried and such. Yes, this board is to have fun discussing Queen, and isn't that just what they're doing? If a newbie is going to be lazy enough to ask a simple question on the board, then can't the rest of us at least appreciate the actual EFFORT of making up a good joke, that some people put in to make the junk posts at least somewhat funny? If it weren't for them, the people who already know the answers to those questions will have nothing to look forward to when reading those posts.
Someone else said some remark about how would you feel if you were being made fun of, or something. I would just like to add that I am a newbie, and have never yet been made fun of once. However, I do still feel that I have been participating as much as I ever wanted to, by replying posts where people ask for my opinion, rather than asking something that I could just find out for myself. I'm not saying that I like it when people call newbies "stupid", and I personally have no problem mustering up the patience to answer an unnecessary question, but I don't think anyone should be hard on the people who choose to put a bit of humour into the posts that piss so many people off.

I think Goo said it perfectly. People just get annoyed with the same questions being asked over and over, especially when some of the answers are easily found with just a little searching, so they respond to it by giving less than serious answers. And it's not like every newbie who comes on these boards gets made fun of. It's just the people who flood the boards with useless posts.

Im a mexican that moved to Vancouver Canada. Actually one of my best friend's brother was one of the journalists crew that hanged out with the band in '81 when they had their bad experience in Mexico. He invited me and there I was at one of the bashes with the four of them!! Lots of people there...I actually got a "A night at the Opera" signed by the four of them all dedicated to me, as I was one of the kids (I was 15 at that time). John and freddie were the ones making big fun because I was there. He actually said: "With whom you're with here Darling?" and turned around and left..
I actually chatted with John a little bit more and he asked me how to say things in Spanish!!

I was really petrified and it lasted like 15 minutes......I'll never forget it...ever

This has nothing to do with "newbies" or "old members". It's about stupid posts, normal posts and good posts. I have almost stopped reading and contributing to Queenzone in the past year because to me it looks less and less enjoyable. All the topics we have had here before (the search function does work, doesn't it?), all the same questions about favourite songs and In Nuce. I think Niek was only asking others to use search engines a bit - what's wrong about that?

If you want to know how your favourite football team played yesterday, will you read the newspaper that is on the table in front of you or will you go to your neighbour and ask him?

I was fortunate enough to meet Brian twice in '93, but I've been following them since '74, so I kind of feel like I know them all!

When are all of you going to realize that it doesnt matter if your a newbie or not hell ive been coming to this site for almost a year and a half now and have liked queen for a lot longer and i just recently decided to join in on the message boards and become a member. did you ever stop and think that could be the case with other people too. And for the record no question about queen is stupid and you have to remeber that not all people our bitter and so lazy that cant answer a newbies question. I mean you should be glad to because your helping someone else love queen even more.
