NEWBIES vs DEITIES

I've been here for three years and I read every day but I can go many weeks without posting. Just depends.

I think that when a lot of the more mean-spirited people complain about "newbies", they are referring to the third definition. Unfortunately, this makes all of the newbies feel targeted. I don't know what my point is with this, but it's something to think about.

I don't care how long someone's been on this board, who cares about that? And I like it that young people discover Queen, it proves that there are still people out there who appreciate real music. But to read the same (stupid) questions over and over and over again, is annoying.
Even more annoying when they are in the wrong section.
It's very easy to find some answers yourself. Especially when you're interested in something, in this case Queen, I'd expect people to go searching for stuff (answers) themselves. Even browsing on this noticeboard can give you a lot of answers. If people would do that, they'd see that the question they have has been posted here many times before.
So, no. In my view there is no 'newbies against oldies'. Besides, someone with a high post count doesn't necessarily know Queen for a long time and vice versa. If that were the case, I think there should be something beyond Deity.

Yeah, people keep mentioning the "search" function, and I must report that I've never experienced it working properly. Mind you, it's been months since I last tried (mammals learn to give up after they find something doesn't work, you know). But several times I looked at a post, and copied a word, then went to paste it into the window and voila! NOTHING. NO RESULTS. EVER. The only way it worked for me was on a poster's name - never on subject.

So, not liking the sensation of banging my brow against the wall, I gave up. Wouldn't be surprised if that happened to others.

Not an "excuse", 'cuz there's Google, AltaVista, Yahoo, AskJeeves, etc., just a possible "explanation". (and besides, most outside sites are littered with careless and appalling factual errors - I never trust them).

EDIT: I just tried it (with great reservation) and it does actually seem to work now, so no excuses, dammit! ;-)

I've been here for years. If I see a crap post tite, like Freddie was sexuals with rabiits while his fishes do the garden. I will msot likely pass on and look for somthing interesting. for instance this high brow topic.
If I have something of interest to say i say it, otherwise i pass on, it's not hard. As for newbies, learn to research then you'll see a lot less people hassling you. Simple really.
