i think the moustache was Freddie's "new look". i dont neccesarily think he was trying to look more gay, and i dont think he was really trying to cover his teeth, however i think he said something about it, something along the lines of he liked his moustache, and it did also cover up his teeth, but i dunno. if andy of you have seen the video for tie your mother down, i personally love how he looks in that one, and also in the video for dont stop me now and crazy little thing called love. i think he could really just look wonderful in anything though.
Holy Shit he prbably grew a moustache because he wanted too not for some stupid reason. God people grow facial hair all the time.

I don't think he grew it to be more gay (how is sexuality measured???) or appear as obvious, but I know that that was a trend in the US (as someone mentioned earlier) and if you look at the pics in Phoebe's book, almost ALL of Freddie's friends had the same look. And he never denied being gay. Take a look at the interview he did with the Brazilian lady asking "Is I Want To Break Free in dedicated to the gay world?" And he said "No. Not at all - it's not my song anyway, John wrote it. And he's a happily married man with about four children." He just happened to fall in with the gay trends and he figured the world knew anyway. He wouldn't just scream it out from the rooftops, but he never lied when asked directly.

Freddie grew the moustache because all his gay friends had them, also that was the style for gay men at that time. I don't think it had anything to do with hiding his teeth, if anything the moustache made his teeth look bigger.

I grew a pot belly because it was the heterosexual thing to do.
First i must say this, "I Loved" this man with all of my "heart".Their is not one day that goes by,without me listening to "Live @ Wimbley", it just gets me going,everyday.
Now as for as "Freddies" moustache",He was just being his self.His jesters was just as natural as could be.When he put his hand up to his mouth, it didn't mean that he was trying to hide anything,teeth or lips.He was just being his self.
"Freddie" was a damn good looking "man"!When i looked & listened to "Freddie",i wasn't looking for flaws, i was looking @ a man that "Rocked" this world, with his gifted voice!
To me he hid nothing.He just went out & gave his all, to his fans,so why talk about his teeth or lips. I will say this to all that thinks "Freddie" had bad teeth or lips."God" has made him perfect, in every way!
He is singing with the "Angels" above, & i know that he is smiling greater than he ever has before.Please say only nice things about "Freddie", he sang his "Heart" out to every one in the whole wide world."God" Blessed "Freddie" in every way human possible,especially, with a voice that only "Freddie Mercury" was meant to use.No other singer can ever match "Freddies" voice,it was only one of a kind!
