Jasen; The reason why you lost his job to an american is because of NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement) and ex-PM Brian Mulroney who royally screwed canadians up the ass. The first PM put tariffs and taxes on companies coming up from the states so that Canadians could stay in charge of
canadian businesses, and i must say it was working
because ford canada was run by canadians as well as wal-mart and other things (over 60% of the market was run by canadians which is pretty good) but when mulroney decided to pass NAFTA through legislation it again screwed us. Now because of this all of the canadian branches of us run companies are usually made in the states due to the free trade (its cheaper to make stuff in the US and ship it up, it was cheaper to make the stuff in canada and use it there) so that is most likely a big factor in your father losing his job.
As for other things Canada showed that they did not support the war by not joining it pissed a lot of people off namely Bush but it showed the government that Canada is NOT the 51st state (there are only 50 states right?) So quite ur fucking bellyaching and shut the fuck up. be happy that ur dad can probably still get a job because from what ive read our economy is leaps and bounds in better condition (just look at the conversion rate) besides we have free health care and just because some americans are naive about canadians doesnt mean you have to hate all of them.

I sense another ad hominem argument by jasen101 in the near future.
"Nothing to refute at all."
As I said, there's very little to refute. Have you read through that site? Most of those items are incredibly minute detail discrepancies (difference is time, small difference in interpretation of stats, etc.) and many are simply his opinion. Ie 'he makes you believe'. Well, most Moore viewers are also critical thinkers. The Moore audience isn't the same as the Fox News audience ;o)
I like Moore. Not because I take what he says at face value. Only an idiot would to that. I like him because he does stir the pot and makes you think about things a bit more.

I like Moore too. Sure, u have to take everything he says with a grain of salt, but you clearly have to do that as well with a lot of politicians and news reports and such. At least he has good intentions.

No, his intentions are horrible. He intends to get his point of view across through trying to deceive the general public. Do you honestly think that he made this movie so that thinking people would consider and weigh the contents of his masterpiece of propaganda? To see if they can count all the deceits for themselves? No, he created it to get all the non-thinking people to side with him. If you really wanted to get your point across honorably, you would lay all your cards on the table without keeping a few up your sleeve. The Moore audience is basically composed mostly of the "'left wing' Fox News audience".
