Freddie did sing many rock songs i.e. TYMD, IWIA, but in some softer songs like TeoT near the end he sings hard hard rock and I was listning to "Welcome to the jungle" bny GNR and just thinking how much better it would sound with Freddie. Axl is awesome and all but Freddie is untouchable, he can hit like a natural high D (TSMGO), anyone else notice Freddie's rockin potential? His heart was that of a lovers though.

Well Freddie was a fab rock singer, but Guns N Roses stuff belongs to Axl... imo...
I agree Jungle is great as it is. Slash is way better guitarist than Brian imo, as well as Axl`s "rough" voice suits the song much better than Freddie`s clean tone. Roger singing `Welcome To The Jungle` would be great though, not as much as Axl`s
Axl sucks!

Faster, maybe. Better, never.

I think Freddie's voice is just too clean for that song's roughness. He could pull it off, but it wouldn't sound as gritty as it should.

Have you ever heard I Want It All?
Anything sung by Axl Rose could have been sung better by Freddie. That's just the way it is. November Rain for example is a decent song, but Axl's voice totally destroys it. Same thing with Bed Of Roses. Jon seems to choke during that one.
Yes, I've heard I Want It All. But I think Thomas Tønnesen said it right: Welcome To The Jungle just is a Guns N' Roses song. Freddie's voice is better than Axl's, but that song seems to fit him, as other people on this thread have said.
To say that Freddie should sing GnR is insulting to me. I'm not saying that the band sucks. But I hate Axl with a passion and I'm sure, had he asked Freddie to work with him on something, Freddie would give him a good punch in the face. Why should Freddie lower himself to such a degrading song? (NOT knocking Appetite For Destruction, but for Freddie, that's lowering the bar). Besides, Freddie was never into heavy metal.
Freddie was a lot into heavy metal, he loved Led Zeppelin, as his former bandmates recalled. Moreover he started his songwriting career as a heavy metal / hard rock composer (Great King Rat, Liar, Ogre Battle), before expanding his style to piano ballads, progressive/art rock, musichall influences, etc.
But he kept writing heavy songs: Death On Two Legs, Let Me Entertain You, Princes Of The Universe, The Hitman, Was It All Worth It (so-so)

Axl is of one of the greatest Queen fans ever. He has said it numerous times. Does that matter ? Well it might not...
Still you cant deny that from the late eighties to the early nineties Guns n Roses was the BIGGEST band in Rock n Roll...

I don`t think Axl is a Queen fan per se. Queen II is one of his favourite albums but that doesn`t mean he`s one of the greatest fans of the band. I would say the only band he`s fan of is Guns N Roses (and me too, perhaps)
It has been discussed before, the things he said in the Queen documentary : Champions of the world...
If he meant those things he said honestly, there cant be much to doubt... :)

It's not right in my opinion to say Queen invented hard rock.... I think it's difficult and not possible to say someone invented that genre, or maybe whatever genre...
If I had to pick one, I'd pick Black Sabbath....

Axl Rose....I was completely disappointed when I saw him on the Tribute singing possibly the worst rendition on earth of BoRhap (apart from being very angry to see him completely stoned during WWRY)....yuck!
I don't know how on earth did they invited such a clown like that one to the Tribute in the first place!!
(mmmmmm I believe I drifted from the topic huh? :))
