why do you want the remaining members of Queen to do now?
Solo careers ?
New Queen album with guest singer ?
A new tour ?
Only The Good Die Young...
Well, Brian seems perfectly happy enough working on the musical, and Roger's just going along with it. So for now, no solo career/tour/album, at least until they're satisfied with the musical.
Resistance is futile. You are now an orb.
The Musical for quite some time. However, they are itching to do something else, latest interviews give that impression. I do think they will do the odd charity event especially for Global AIDS.

Looking at the other bands, the Dead, the Rolling Stones, and even INXS (without Hutchence) and the (21 century) Doors (without Morrison) those tours were successful but Queen is an exception they are not like The Who who continues without their two founding members (Moon and Entwhistle).

Queen's musicians were left grieving without FM. As were their fans. It has been a long period of mourning and now with their music being heard once again and appreciated all over the world it seems that that sad part of Queen's history has only just begun to heal.

Freddie Mercury will always be beloved by many many fans all over the world and is a gay icon (which may have certainly surprised him) he is "worshipped" (just read the Freddie section of this site, "Yipes!" I mean no one alive can compete with Mercury's spirit and no one singer will ever be excepted in his "place" especially by the fans. Queenies are a very stubborn and loyal bunch!)

It is impossible for Queen to be Queen without Freddie but the musical helps to ease the loss not only for its surviving members (especially May, Taylor and Deacon) but many fans.

Tour? That is a question put to May and Taylor may times since FM's passing.

Another look at one of their early colleagues and touring acts Thin Lizzy who has reformed (many years after Phil Lynott's death), so it's certianly has to be on their mind. The question should not be maybe? but when? and if they do they can certainly limit it to a small venues or a short amount of time.

Hope Does Spring Eternal Doesn't It?

Long Live Queen!!!
"why do you want the remaining members of Queen to do now?"

Quit. It's been painful enough.
a fucking tour

with George Michael
Mejor yo me hecho una chela, y chance enchufo una chava, chambeando de chafirete, me sobra chupe y pachanga Tranzando de arriba a abajo, hay va la chilanga banda , chinchin si me la recuerdan
I didn't want a new debat about 'Could Queen be Queen without Freddie?'
I just wanted to know what do you want them to do now.

Me, I would like a new album with new freddie vocals on songs rediscovered by Greg.
A new tour.
And (in my dreams) the Queen boxes.
Only The Good Die Young...
Anything. As long as it doesn't involve certain popstars... :o(
Previously known as 'Poodle Permed'.
I'd want them to do a lot of things:
1. A new album with Freddie's vocals (they said they have enough unreleased material with Freddie)
2. A couple of live albums (not a bad idea, eh?): perhaps Hammersmith'75 or other great live performance from their golden era.
3. A tour. But in the 3-man lineup: Bri, Rog, John... and maybe a guest star, I dunno.
4. New solo albums
5. The musical

Unfortunately, it's only the musical they'll ever care about...
I LOVE QUEEN! "My guitar was my weapon and my shield to hide behind" (Brian May)

With you on that one...

This is going to happen, I think- Brian mentioned sth in recent interview... PLUS- Milton Keynes is the stepin the right direction; basically- that's exactly how I see Queen existing now: releasing some amazing stuff they have in their archives...

Please- no guest vocals!!! Wouldn't mind Rog and Bri touring together and I would love them to do some less known stuff- could live without some Anastacia trying to sing We Are The Champions, I don't have to hear this song EVER AGAIN!!! But hearing them performing stuff THEY can sing (after some practicing and a lot of rehearsals) like "I'm In Love with My Car", "Under Pressure", "Headlong" or even some less known stuff like "Sleeping on The Sidewalk" or "Tenement Funster"... F**k the general audience- the morons who don't know anything apart from Greatest Hits I, II and III and don't want to know- at last do sth for fans... Wishful thinking... :(

Brian at some point said sth. about blues album- I WOULD LOVE THIS!!!
All in all- not what they're doing now (apart from last DVDs, which are pretty decent releases), not only commercially safe decisions... I would love to see them doing sth. unfashionable, sth. for fans, sth for those who stick with them for many, many years, not only for those who recently bought GREATEST HITS and MAYBE will buy sth else, provided the same songs are going to appear there...

I would love to see them put out another cd of unreleased songs from the vault, as in Made In Heaven. I'd also love to see them go out on tour. I don't think Brian and Roger could pull it off without finding another vocalist. Obviously, there will never be another Freddie. They have to find someone that could do a decent job with Queen's sound. Someone had mentioned George Michael. He's got a very good range, and someone like him could possibly pull it off. Let's face it, Freddie's not going to be there, but if Queen could still capture some of the magic that they had (and I don't see why not, given the talent that is left), I'd definitely be there. Bring 'em on!!
every second word he swore, yes, he was the son of a whore, always wanted by the law!

oooooo, sorry! if i had it my way, id like to see them perform live as a three. ive no interest in brian and roger alone really, cos i think they are selling themselves out as it is. i want to see john. damn it!
I dunno ... at this rate (since this is becoming another "Queen-is-what-without-dear-Fred?" topic, maybe by mistake, maybe not) I'd settle for something beyond the musical (cough-cough-obsession-cough-cough) ... rereleasing some long-forgotten material would be well-received. (That would rock ...) Augh. Just something. Anything.

(That is, stagnation kills me. Not to say that anything is stagnating; just that it's frustrating looking backwards all the time instead of forwards.)
