So my guess is they only want to release stuff wich they can supervise.

i think that the 70s stuff is only obscure because of the march of time. many forget that in 82 they did HS album tracks, in 84 they did works album tracks too....it was ALWAYS their way to promote their new album. i would like to see a dvd relase that covers something not already generally in the public domain....something more remote...and complete!!!

I agree. There is a version of TATDOOL that was done by Disney. Instead of the grayish look, they went back and put a gold glow over the whole thing. It was very subtle but very cool. I only saw it a couple of times but I hope it makes it as an Easter Egg or something on the GVHIII.Up until the GH III video tape came out, I had only seen the Disney version. I was pleasently surprised to see the video in black and white with no animation. That said, I REALLY hope we get both of them on DVD. :)

I think Earls Court 77 maybe isn't the best choice for the next dvd release.
Even if the performance is good and everything, I still think the video is too dark and "boring".
If they want to release a 77 concert, Houston is the best choice I think.
It looks much more interesting to me, and since it's SOOOOO hard to get it
on vcd I would be really happy to see that one released one day!
And a complete version of Hammersmith 79 would be nice too, or some 78 show if they have any.

Perhaps Queen should go to Skywalker sound and THX to produce the DVDs. That would fix any problems they supposedly have. I think they don't want to release Earls Court because of the major screw up during You Take My Breath Away. Piano mic difficulties.....sure.

That's wrong! I've heard of some people who's got a complete video in EX quality.
But QP has said that they maybe won't release it due to some mic problems, like in Earls Court.
I hope they change their mind!
Is that right about Houston ? Didn't Queen Productions show a video of the gig to Brian/Roger a while back, and they weren't impressed with it?

Actually I think a couple of you are incorrect about what short promotional films (music videos) that there are for the song "These Are The Days Of Our Lives".
My understanding is that there is the black and white performance one and THEN the one released in the U.S. on music home video in 1992 on "Classic Queen" was the one related to Disney which had animation inserted into certain spots of the film.
The THIRD verion of the film is actually the one where you see the black and white performance and at some instances goes into gold coloring which is cool and in some instances shows clips of Queen on film from throughout their history. I believe this third version came out around the time of "Classic Queen".

It's probably all just a matter of which shows Brian and/or Roger likes. I'm sure they have full video of all the concerts that were videotaped. Remember, Roger hates Live Killers so if one of them doesn't approve of the project, it gets scrapped. Also, do you think Queen will consider the release of Live Aid as a Queen concert, as well?
as i said earlier...much of the far east tours were filmed...they would be interesting - esp from the crowd particpation levels...

There's no point in releasing Hyde Park if only for this reason- it's one of the worst gigs Queen ever played... Brian was extremely nervous, Freddie had IMO bad day- Flick Of The Wrist or Sweet Lady are probably the wort versions of those songs I've ever heard...
