What's the most offensive thing someone has told you for being a Queen fan

I have gotten a lot of reactions for being a queen fan. Some people just go along with it and don't care. Some people don't know who that is so I have to go "You know them. We Will Rock You, We are the Champions, Another one bites the dust......" They usually all go "Oh yeah....". Some people ask "Isn't all the people in that group gay?" I have to explain that only Freddie was. One time someone just started laughing at me and said that I was gay for listening to that music. I wanted to kick his ass so much. Unfortunatly he is about 5x bigger than me. So I didn't even want to say anything.

I always hate when my brother starts going at me for listening to queen. He always keeps reminding me that We Are the Champions is a gay anthem. I keep asking him why everyone is always singing it at sports arena. One thing that always shuts me down is that I live in USA so when I start talking about how well their songs did, I don't have much support since they only had two number one hits. But do many songs get released at #9 and re-released and reach #2. Of course he mentions that it's only because of Wayne's World. He just thinks that everyone has to be like him.

The most offensive someone said to me was at a Halloween party in 1991 right before Freddie died. I ask the host - how was this not so attractive girl who need to get in the sun alittle, that is she had any Queen albums that she could mix in with the hair bands she was playing on the stero. She told me that she would not have that faggot's music in her house!!!! Well being a very proud gay man I told here to go f#@k off - in true Freddie fashion, and left the party.

exept the old hispanics who only listen to tejano
well a lot of people in my city know Queen
and if they don't i can say, no one thinks they suck
cuz they hear WWRY, AOBTD a lot on the radio
even the people that listen to a lot of rap respect queen

When I was 10 or 11 or so a boy at school said "Eeeewww you're Queen fan, you suck!" when he saw my Queen T-Shirt.
But we were kids.
I didn't get any insults ever since.

I just heard a friend saying that he didn't like Queen because the singer is gay (he did say "is") but that's not worth a comment, is it?

I did get a few "What?? Queen??? Really?????" - comments though.

Hm...the most offensive thing I was ever told for listening to Queen came from my parents...I had just gotten a copy of the instrumental cd (Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, etc.) and was choreographing a little when my dad turned off the music and started lecturing me...He told me he couldn't believe I was listening to a band that included a homosexual and made references to the devil and Beelzebub. The gist of that lecture was that I was being a bad little southern baptist girl by enjoying their music. It got worse when he told me he wouldn't allow me to 'taint' my little sisters by bringing that music into the house...
Coming from my dad, that really hurt at the time. Now, I don't really care...we disagree about too many things. Besides, I figured if they were important enough for him to get so worked up about it, they were certainly important enough for me to really listen to them!

The thing is, if I talk to the ones around my age (I'm 19) it's not very likely to be told:
Aaaah...Queen...great band. If I'm lucky they know it's a band. If I talk to older people, they would surely know what's Queen about, and say something like "Aaah...Queen...cool"
I'm from Romania too and I can't realize how most people here can be so ignorant. They prefer, like everywhere, easy-music, which does not need the superior part of your body.
QUEEN ROCKS!!!Nothing will change that.

I didn't know that...

I was at school one day, and some kid was telling me how much I loved Queen, and that I was “in love” with JOHNNY MERCURY. I got very mad that he couldn’t get the name right. So I told him that his name was Freddie Mercury, and that he was gay.

And my friend tried to tell me that “Crazy Little Thing Called Love” was originally written by Elvis. I didn’t want to waste my time though.
