i like "body language". not as much as i used to.

I think Hot Space in general is nothing too wonderful. With the exceptions of "Las Palabras" (which is one of my all time favs), "Put Out The Fire", and "Under Pressure", I haven't listened to that album in years. Definitely my least fav album.

Check this out. It was not John on bass, rather, Freddie.

I was listening to the Sheer Heart Attack album today, and that song "She Makes Me" (?) came on, and there was all that syncopated heavy breathing, and it reminded me of Body Language, even though it's a rock ballad instead of a funky thing. But they're both "me me me la la la pant pant sigh."

I actually prefer Body Language, but, as someone said, chacun a son gout.

Personally (as everything concerning favourite songs and stuff), in the context of Hot Space I think it works. An album always creates a certain atmosphere and overall sound, let alone due to the recording habits or the producer at the time. And even the not so good albums have their own kinda atmosphere. Thus I am not a fan of this "reworking thing", as an album compiled of songs from, say, Hot Space and AKOM just doesn't sound right... anyway, thats another thing.

On Hot Space it's okay. Tissue-Song.

To be fair, I will tolerate the song.. if I'm listening to the whole album or something.. and I think the video is hilariously bad so I enjoy that. But I would generally prefer not to hear the song.

Maybe BodyL is not a very "queenish" song but how it's modern! If u listen to some Minogue production (her last album is called BL) u can find the same stile. I don't like this stile in particular, but I can admit that the atmosphere is great and sexual! See the video..

I agree with the Duke, seaside rendezvous, Lazing and Sweet Lady are great songs. Songs like these really show the variance and versitility of the band, particularly in the 70s period. I don't think that ability left them, just that they had kinda done that, and went in different directions, Hot Space being the most left field example. They almost came full circle with things like Bijou and Innuendo, Slightly Mad and You Don't Fool Me is kind of like a little break to that. As others have said, YDFM is how Hot Space would have sounded if they'd done HS in 1990s. But it was done in 1980s, so that's why it sounds like it does.

I was actually thinking about HS the other day and was thinking that you could happily pluck Put Out The Fire and put it on NOTW or Works and it would fit in there no problem. Action This Day could probably fit okay on The Game or (possibly) The Works, so I think in lots of ways the funky/disco element of HS hinders the more guitar based songs.

Body Language is a good song... for me. A typical Freddie Mercury's song maybe the video isn't too good
