Eh??? Bit silly this.
Freddie arranged it, but Roger wrote it. Take Knockin` On Heaven`s Door as example. Guns N Roses took it, added little segments, put a different drum part, put solos, more harmonies, a rhythm guitar, melodic bass, etc, but still the song is Bob`s, because the solos, new melodies, etc they created were over the chord progressions and lyrics Bob had put.
Same case. Fred arranged what Roger wrote.

A kind of Magic - as far as I remember - is such a kind of track you mean maybe. It is Rogers track but FM worked on it.
Yeah Fred said in Munich that John and Rog let him get in their songs from an early stage, kind of tear them apart and tape back together again. So in a way I guess all or most of R`s and J`s songs were arranged by him; in some cases John even shared the credit with him.
Yeah, I think the Highlander version of 'A Kind Of Magic' is Roger's original version and the single version was Freddie's arrangement, can't remember where I heard that. I think it was 'Champions of the World' I heard that.
I personally like the version at the end of Highlander. Quite good and the AKOM version wouldn't've fit in.
Yeah, the 'real' magic version sounds so dark. I like it a lot. You can hear this version in a great sound quality on the Wembley DVD at the gallery section! Check it out!
Come on, anybody knows it was written by David Bowie.
"A Kind Of Magic" initially was ment to be a hard - rocksong, Freddie decided to re - create it in pop style.
can't quite imagine AKOM being a rocker.
According to the latest information Roger wrote only GA GA and RADIO was written by Robbie Wiliams
hehehe... the original A king of magic was really dark etc, then when roger went on holidays, freddie managed to get the musical notes (cant think of proper term) and rearranged it! champion.... of course if he did that to me i'd beat him, but good on him!
"A Kind Of Magic" initially was ment to be a hard - rocksong, Freddie decided to re - create it in pop style. Not a hard-rock... Darker- yes; more interesting- yes! less obvious- yes! But it wasn't heavy at all!!! Hard rock is sth like Dead On Time or Son And Daughter, not original version of AKOM...
On AKoM I suspect Brian had quite a lot of input: His bouncy (actually brilliant) guitarwork rather made the song for me. And I should imagine the solo was almost entirely his invention.
But then ownership in MondoQueeno is a rather slippery concept.
