I believe 'tmotbq' stands for The March of The Black Queen, a song from Queen II.
Yeah I like some of the tracks, I personally prefer the 'Freddie Mercury Album' but thats just my opinion.

I'm in the middle on this one. I think most of the songs are great, but do suffer from weak arrangements, and the synthesizer work really sounds dated and cheesy.
I can't help but enjoy a song like the title track.. it's incredibly catchy and the intro is fab. I think not only Queen's Made In Heaven album, but also some of the 1992 remixes prove that the songs themselves are really nice ideas... just not fully realized at the time.

I can't understand when someone says Mr Bad Guy, Hot Space, Flash Gordon are crap... Hey, people, would you like if Queen'd make about 50 like Queen II albums? Let's listen to some other bands who's doing the same stuff through the years and can't stop! Hot Space wasn't the best album, but it was different to what they did before and after and you have something to choose! Same about Mr Bad Guy - it's Freddie's solo album and he did it in the way he wanted. Can you imagine that some non-Queen fans bought it and enjoyed? I can and I know such guys!

"Mr Bad Guy" is quite good - despite "There Must Be More To Life Than This", which I hate and the starnge version of "Living On My Own" (I prefer the radio version). Oh and "I Was Born To Love You" is better in Queen version. Rest is OK. You must remember that Freddie`s solo carrier was everything he could have done with Queen but he wouldn`t like them to do it (because they were a live rocking band and in the 80s Freddie was very interested in dance pop music, look on his suit from the videoclip "I Was Born o Love You" pure 80s).

Yeah, I feel the same as DF. Some good songs on the album - just weak in those mentioned areas. And of course some songs shine, given the right arrangements. Just look at the MIH revisited tracks.

I think Fred purposefully kept away from the Queen style. I think he said that he didn't want the others on the record or it would become a Queen album. Look at Barcelona. Obviously writing for montserrat had a large influence, but that was deliberately removed from Queen.
So, when MIH is done and Brian is let loose in the Queen way, of course the tracks will be completely different, and benefit from the synergy of the quartet that they all acknowledged.

I dislike the whole record apart from two tracks: "More To Life" and "Love Me Like There's No Tommorrow"... Otherwise- crap if you ask me... Sorry Fred...;)
The best thing on this album is the sond. It is quite good mixed down. The quality of the arrangements isn't that bad. Unfortunately the synthesizers used on the record and the drum sound are not first class. Apart from that, some lyrics are weak.
Partly very good songs, lyrics are so typical of Freddie... struggling to find the love of his life, or just indulging himself knowingly in utter nonsense. :-)

He wanted to make a pop-record. So IMO it's pretty useless to debate that it would have sounded better as a rockalbum. Which leads us to the MIH-Versions. IMHO they shouldn't have done it in the first place. I know I'm gonna get slaughtered for that.
After all a good album - The guitar-sound is crap, though. Even for a pop-record.

I for myself don't like MBG album too much, but it's my problem after all. I think Freddie wanted it exactly as it is - he tried to do something different from Queen - and thus he did disco album.
In fact - and here I agree with what was said here - it's (thanks to Freddie's voice and composing) not bad work comparing to lot of crap we've been hearing around all the time. Most I like title song and Love Me Like There's No Tomorrow.

Damn I guess I have the incomplete version (I`ve got a MC version) because I have only 10 tracks and definitely I don`t have "Love Me Like..." and "..More Time"
