Bo Rhap was written by a drunk Freddie in one evening. so your it would take very long theorie doesn't make any sense.You can't write a good song on a command, you write a good song in the right mood.
Ever since I was a young boy, I've played the silver ball. From SoHo down to Brighton, I must have played them all. That deaf, dumb and blind kid, sure plays a mean pinball

And if Freddie and gang wasn't in the mood, some ppl do write songs because they want to, its not all the time they in the mood.

I'm aware that this is a very old post, and nobody may ever read this. But I thought I'd better straighten some things out as I've read some inaccurate information online about the circumstances.

The song was written for my Colin - Colin was my paternal uncle. He did not die from a car accident as some websites may have you believe - it was my other uncle, Colin's brother, who suffered the car accident. Colin actually died from testicular cancer when he was 25 years old, in 1987.

I have the original local newspaper articles from when my uncle was sent this tape, hes pictured with the cassette and a signed personalised photo from Freddie. It was his step-sister who wrote to the band's press office, she was only hoping for a signed photo for him. Freddie went above and beyond, recording this song for him.
It states that among the words of the song are;

"All we need is a little smile on your face, just a little smile for the big human race. Colin, keep smiling!"

I haven't heard the original recording, nor can I confirm (or deny) the rather romanticised version that he was buried with the original tape - I've not heard this from my own family.

The photo's taken of Colin with the tape for the newspaper were taken by my father. They're dated the 4th June 1987, Colin did die a few weeks later on the 3rd August.

I just wanted to make sure that accurate information was put out there - even the book "Queen: complete works" written by George Purvis carries the inaccurate information.
Although a general version of the song seems to be available for people to listen to, I do believe that the original personal version written just for my uncle has in fact remained that way, just for Colin.

I've since been informed that the original copy of the song was a slow version of the song that is available for others to hear. It was played at my uncle's funeral, so it would seem that the original has in fact remained private between Freddie and my uncle.

Wow. Pretty bad level of disregard here. It's a kind of tragic.

It's a kind of tragic.

Hadn't heard that story because I wasn't able to afford the collection while in High school. And it was only through international import....though I could've purchased an alternate language copy of the insert...i opted out because I'm not FLUENT in much else save for possibly Spanish/Italian
