Inu: Even if "'39" & "Sweet Lady" DID partially overlap in the way you suggest - would that really warrant an additional entry, when most completists would have the album version anyway?

Simply, I do not know. As I already said above: "...the problem is that these are more home (rather than studio) demos, and as such... they belong to the individual rather than part of the studio-system."

What's with the 'unsegued' versions of IILWMC?
As in the case with '39/Sweet Lady, there is no segue at either the beginning or end of IILWMC. The album version is a standalone version.

Bo Hardy: You are correct - "I'm In Love With My Car" is stand alone on the album, but there is really no "gap" which seperates the tracks as such, and in the days before digital editing, no matter how hard one tried, it was always impossible to seperate with a cassette tape only.
The Bo-Rhap "B"-side was always viewed as a "must have" for any collection. I also think that the "B"-side has also been edited in some way, but I can't remember how at present. I think it was the motorcycle revs at the start or the end of the track which were different.

I think the thing is that just because things are erased or disappear (eg: the BBC ADMIT to wiping "Doctor Who" tapes because they re-recorded on top of the tapes), why is it always assumed that it must be in the hands of collectors? I could see how "Doctor Who" could be rescued - if it was physically stolen - but erased - I do not see how someone without access to the master tapes could rescue such a thing.
It is the same with Queen. If something is erased, lost or stolen, what guarantee is there that collectors, somewhere, someplace MUST have these?

the single version of I'm In Love With My Car differentiates in that it starts with the engine revving, and ends in a fade-out; the album version starts with the song straight away and ends with the engine revving and some guitar from Brian. the Queen Rocks version puts the engine revving intro from the single version in front of the complete album version.

There is a different mix of The Prophet's Song on the ANATO DVD-A. It has a longer opening with more wind effects, etc. Also there may be an Argentinian edit of Good Company. I have yet to have that confirmed though.

The Argentinian edit of Good Company only misses the last chords (the strange noise) of the track. At least, that's the difference on my MP3-file :)
The Argentinian CD of ANATO is very, very bad. It has 2-second pre-track gaps filled with silence over the actual tracks!!! WORST RELEASE EVER!

Interesting... Are you referring to a 5.1 or a stereo mix? From the withdrawn DVD-A, the released DVD-A or the DTS DVD sampler? By the way, the later has an stand-alone version, both in 5.1 and stereo.
I don't know which recording it is off of. It's a downmixed version of the 5.1 mix. Length is 8.31.

Recently I got hold of a Dream Theater album "Scenes From A Memory"- but not the version avaliable in the shops but the unused mix. The band decided to remix it and used only 2 or 3 tracks from the original mix. Knowing the album as it was released I listened to the first mix and... there were many differences. Sometimes it was a question of this bit higher, this bit lower in the mix (although it changed the music significantly!), but in some cases the entire lyric line or a keyboard or guitar riff were abandoned or added!!!
Why am I talking about it?
I read that Queen made the public hearing of their back than new ANATO album- for journalists. After that, they weren't happy with the mix and decided to remix whole album. To the point that it actually almost delayed the tour or something- don't remember... NOW THAN- after hearing what a "new mix" really mean- this might be REALLY interesting!!! Does the original mix exist? Is it significantly different? (D.T. really was!!!) Anyone ever though or heard about it?
