well, well well...one week after release and i still haven't bought either dvd or cd of "on fire"
sorry people - i STILL can't see what the fuss is about....
before you all verbally abuse me
1. i was there - it was a good concert, good but not great
2. i still have the channel4 - the tube - broadcast on vhs - and seldom play it - just don't like it that much - the material from that tour was uninspiring
3. i refuse to get dragged into the hype

there are much better concerts out there....but queen won't release them....so we should be grateful for this? count me out....if it were houston, earls court, hammy75, osaka 85, argentina81, then perhaps - but not this

Well, perhaps Brian would say: "If you haven't seen it, you should just shut up". :-)
No, really, I think it's worth buying. The quality could be better than your VHS. The show is great, full of energy and I'm sure you have the money to buy it and eventually you'll get over spending your money on this.

I brought the CD, but I cant buy the DVD as my sis has got it me for Xmas, I'll have to make do with the VHS for now!

I don't think there's a real "hype" concerning MK. People simply enjoy the DVD, yet they tend to be critical as well.

Really? Not that much of a hype? I thought different :(
What hype, indeed. Just felt the same as when GVHII came out. Now, I think there was more of a hype feel with the Wembley dvd release.

Peace,
Adam.
I'd think of it as "delightful anticipation" instead of "hype".
Rock In Rio was pretty shite.

i think one of the main reasons for QP have released MK'82 is the same of Wembley'86, Rio'85 and Budapest'86: in the day of the gig, the whole country where the gig happened stopped to watch it's trasmission on TV and listen in the radio

wembley and MK were not broadcast live on tv or radio in england

"which WAS going to be aired live for a whole country!"

WAS, doesn't meant to say it ever did and neither of them ever were aired live.

Take if from somebody who saw both original transmissions in the UK, which were edited by the C4 prog 'The Tube' and broadvcasr several months after the actual events.

As to the original poster.

Watching ANYTHING on DVD (that is done correctly) is like watching something you've not seen before. Throw away your fuzzy old, cut-down ageing VHS copy and go watch the DVD and see Queen how they were meant to be seen.

Nah, I think Brian would say something like "Come and see WWRY, It's great!"

Maybe thats the reason I rarely check Brianmay.com these days
