it was MY opinion - the concert was good - it has nothing to do with it only being vhs (up til now)
I WAS there and it was good - but not great - and that's my opinion - and that's why i won' be buying it.
i have replaced several vhs tapes with dvds down the years - films and music - but i only do this i fi can remember wanting to look at the vhs often enought to justify it - and with MK i can't.
...and now perhaps the person who said i was wrong about MK and wembley being broadcast live would like to admit I was right and they were wrong...MK was broadcast in the autumn - i can verify this because the TUBE launched in the autumn and it was (along with a Roling Stones gig) one of their big initial "sellers" to get the programme some viewers - the concert was 5:6:82 - i know - iwas there!!!
as for wembley - can't be sure but i was at least a month after the concert - i know again - because i didn't need to set the VHS before travelling down the M40 to London for the concert

1. i was there - it was a good concert, good but not great
2. i still have the channel4 - the tube - broadcast on vhs - and seldom play it - just don't like it that much - the material from that tour was uninspiring
3. i refuse to get dragged into the hype
there are much better concerts out there....but queen won't release them....so we should be grateful for this? count me out....if it were houston, earls court, hammy75, osaka 85, argentina81, then perhaps - but not this

The fucking great vocal delivery that night- not that many times Fred sang better... Set list? I agree- could have been better- I mean I love 70's and anything from that era would be welcome, BUT- a year ago we were bitching about Queen keeping their gigs in the vaults- When one of them is out we say "what's all the fuss about" and "why not Hammersmith"... I bet if they released Hmmersmith'75 some ppl would say- well, I have a perfect VCD of it, nothing special, setlist isn't THAT interesting, they made some mistakes (and they made quite few)- why not fucking Truro'71...? I wrote that already once in other thread- this feels like a graet place to repeat... Are you ever going to be staisfied...? I understand- that's your opinion; it wasn't great, you're not buying it- fine. But most ppl seem to enjoy the performance- why saying that it's a hype? I love this gig, man!!! And I dislike Wembley- now that was a freaking hype!!!
How in the world can you dislike Wembley?Freddie's voice is in a bad shape, the set list is full of greatest hits therefore- crap, half of the gig in the daylight, many mistakes... AND ESPECIALLY- the hype surrounding this gig... Undeserved, when it gets to performance...

I have 3 different copies of MK, and I am lucky to delete them now. Just obsolete.
And I never loved the Hot Space thing at all.
But on all your TV copies or what ever, there is no Action, no Back Chat and all the missing rest.
And the Vienna 82 sequence is completly new for 99% of us ( except some seconds in the DoRo videos ).Don´t forget that.

but isn´t it great, that QP finally found out, they have some treasures, which will still bring a lot of Cash?
Imagine, if they find out about Earls Court (nowadays no prob to fix that little sound errors), Cologne 1986( = rehearsal video for Budapest), Houston 77 ( WWRY fast...thats all? )

Osaka '85 isnt as good as Milton Keynes. I don't mind what they release as long as I havent got it and it's good.

I was hoping too that Cologne '86 still exists, but in another thread here I found out that the director actually used just a few cameras and the same tape as in Budapest, he just recorded over it - so sadly no Cologne footage...
I can't wait to buy it and, trust me, there is NO hype here in the US. Can the 12 people who know about it's release create hype???
I would buy a dvd of any concert I had attended.
I also think that the Full show, restored, is far better than the Tube edit (which I've also seen).
But I respect the choices of whoever it is that refuses to buy it on some sort of moral grounds.

Good point. Couldn't agree more!! Nevermind which gig might be released, someone will always complain, why didn't they release sth else... And more, many of us unfortunately never had the chance to see Queen live, so we can't wait for any gig to be released. I've seen MK on VHS and like it pretty much, though I also love the 70's stuff much much more. But I think MK is a good gig, and will without any doubt be even better on DVD, so I'm sure gonna buy it. You oldtimers are simply spoiled cause you had the chance to see Queen live so many times. If you were in my position, I assure you you'd give your right hand for any Queen gig, even if they played in some highschool for a school dance. You old spoiled bastards;))
Fenderek you are totally correct in my opinion about Wembley. I was at 4 UK shows on that tour and the only one that had real drive and delivery was Knebworth. The rest were at best Average and at worst down right disappointing (Maine Road). Milton has an energy and exhuberence that Wembley never gives
Well I can't wait to sit down tonight to watch my copy of the concert on DVD - with the full surround and chrystal clear picture - will be AMAZING. I have the crappy VHS versions (many of them) the longer versions and the short ones they keep replaying on VH1 in UK all the time, but to see it in it's entirity and with great audio, I cannot wait. I have already watched the second disc and love the "Calling all Girls" to the photo gallery, it just rocks - the Hot Space album might not have been a good one for the band, but live the numbers take a life of their own - they are so much better. I shall be happy to watch the full concert and think that the Queen DVDs are delivering good value for money ! Anyway, if you dont want to buy it, then DONT - no-one is forcing you too - and unless you actually do sit and watch it, I cannot see how you can criticise it.
I hope they keep the concerts coming,and am glad to know that know I can toss away all my horrible home made DVDrs, VCDs and videos of this concert in the edited forms. Good...............that will free up more space for future Queen DVDs !!
