There are things on this site that I dont get involved in because they are not why Im here and if I see posts that fall into that category I simply ignore them, its called choice! and its one of the very few privileges that you have! To me to be a FAN=to be loyal, true, worthy, undiscriminitive to the group/s, singer, etc.. Something like Vows= To love, honor and cherish, etc..(you know the rest) and if we were to look at what I am talking about in terms of VOWS, you would not do some of the things that are done and said on here to your spouse. Correct? Now, I have looked/thought about all of your respones (all of you who have responded to my Message). And I think you all are still alittle one sided. I understand what you're trying to say about being a fan, but some of the values you listed aren't necessarily true. I really don't think we should have to be indiscriminate towards the band. Just because you don't like a song or an album doesn't make you any less of a fan than somebody who loves every single note they've ever recorded. Every band has tracks that aren't as good as others, but saying so doesn't make us bad fans. Sometimes you just have to separate yourself from being loyal to the group for fear of saying anything less than stellar about them and realize that critiquing music isn't a bad thing. And on another note, a lot of people don't always think about loyalty towards a band, or holding vows true in order to be a good fan. Some just listen to the music for the music and don't take it all that seriously.

That's the source of all your misery then. You simply have it all wrong. To be a fan implies nothing of the sort. Uncritical praise is bumlicking worship. Being a fan is simply liking the band's music - and not neccesarily all of it...
