Does anybody knows when and where 'Days Of Our Lives' video was shown on TV for the first time?
The video was filmed at May 1991 and Brian's footages came later, but anyway - Queen usually filmed a video only for accompanying of single release, except 'Calling All Girls' and 'Princes Of The Universe'.
(CAG was released as single in USA, but I don't mention any oustide of UK single releases - but anyway it could be done for Americans, though it didn't help for chart success, after the 'Body Language' and 'Radio Ga Ga' Top-20 entrances the USA fans were happy about Queen only with Wayne's World 'Bo Rhap'. POTU could be just a part of promotional company for 'Highlander' movie, though again in some countries song was released as single, but I'm not sure Queen could do video for any single releases anywhere, otherwise they had to do 'Jealousy' video for Russian single release :-)
So I'm interesting if the video was filmed for proper single release (but single was released anyway after Freddie's death mostly as a tribute to him and even 'The Show Must Go On' was released earlier) and had to wait sometime in 'the video archive'. 'Days of our lives' was released as promo single in USA before Freddie's death, so maybe that is the answer. Or it was just situation when Freddie was able to film something and they did it without any goals to release song as a single.
P.S. Please don't reply with 'Everything I know about this: it was last Freddie's video', 'Wow! His waistcoat has images of his cats!' etc., I am not newbie!
P.P.S. And for God's sake don't judge me for my questions and for my wish to know perfect and exact answer (well if it's possible): yes, I really would like to know things I ask, someone's interesting was Freddie gay or bi, someone's what is the best Queen song, and I want to know about things I ask. And thanks for being patient of my bad English.

It was shown in the Uk at the end of a Tribute To Freddie show on BBC1 shortly after his death. There were a lot of shocked fans when that was shown! Shocked, but proud!
So it means that the video has never been shown when Freddie was alive?

And the remarkable thing about it was the "tribute" version has none of the "masking" with animation that the final single promo version had. In my view that makes it much better.

I agree, Martin. Disney's version loses a little bit its sad mood of the song. With 'Save Me' it was okay, but 'Days Of Our Lives' is better without animation.
Right, and what was the "thrust" of the animation? I can't see how it relates to the song. If it did it probably distracted from the true message (whatever Roger intended that to be). :-)
All I know is it was Freddie's last appearance on Video ;-)
I agree. The version without animation is far superior. It's just the band, As it should have been. Kind of a final hurrah. Besides that, Who needs animation when they can be watching Queen? ;)

Walt Disney Co as well as Touchstone Pictures and Hollywood Records are parts of one corporation - that is where the idea came from - to use some famous USA trademarks for the best promotion, I suppose.
But I preffer Disney to do something else than animate Queen videos!

For a long time I did not like the Disney version at all. But a few weeks ago I realized there is a certain thing with the animated video:
There every member of the band is shown singing a few words of the lyrics. That is not shown in the pure black n white video. there however, every member is smiling into the camera. These smiles are not featured on the Disney video...
Also, the animations somehow are adequate for the lyrics. Take for example the line "sit back and go with the flow!". There you can see the guy sitting in a chair, which is flying through space... It somehow matches.

Scirocco1977, it's high-class professional and goes okay for an ordinary video, but when you know that it's very special for all Queen fans video you don't want to mess footages with animation.
That's something what I like for 'I'm Going Slightly Mad' - no computer graphics, no special effects - it makes a right mood for the song, so the tragedy that is in 'Days of our lives' - tragedy of Freddie's last months - don't have to be covered by animation, IMHO.
