yes the crowd response was very pleasing perhaps it confirms that what they have been doing over the last 65 years has indeed worked and as far as joe public are concerned Queen even without Freddie and John still means a hell of a lot!
I actually liked the performance! Time for some new material though while they are still hot I think?

Paul Rogers was an inspired choice, always liked him in Bad Company and Free but he was fantastic doing Rock you and Champions with his great vocals
Thoroughly agree with you RH. And the version of All Right Now at the end was good - tho I'm still trying to work out what the Polyphonic Spree actual involvement was all about....
Just saw the Alright Now bit and loved it! I'm not one for controversy on these things, but I think PR kept something back for that performance.

All Right Now was good, But Roger looks like shite.
Personally I thought the Hall Performance was bloody good... if Bri and Rog are to go on and do something 'new' creatively... in Paul Rodgers they've found a vocalist worthy of taking such things forward... :o)
Yes I'm sure there are a fair few saddos on here stuck in their time warps too closed minded to accept that anything new can be challenging and exciting... but those bozo's can stick to getting anorakical about fuzzy ancient bootlegs while the more open minded among us embrace the here and now... hurrah!

You are absolutely right he did say The Who. that quote that I used come directly from the QOL as I said. And no, I didnt alter it to make them look daft - they can do that perfectly well themselves.
Crocerdile, performing two songs that are almost 30 years doesn't really qualify as "new" stuff, wouldn't you agree?
I was a bit pissed that the film could have been much better in comparison with the others and I said this at the time the 70's programme was on. Never mind we are there now. Would be interesting to see how much Queen won by. Justin Hawkins said they had won "by miles" but a percentage of the vote figure would be interesting to know. Jamie Theakston is a tosser and it was almost a Spinal Tap moment after the Queen performance when he said "wow, that rocked!". Yes but an event like this is hardly the place to be pulling out something unheard or obscure for your audiences' ear...
It was a very very good performance and Rodgers made his own mark on it, if that makes sense... with him as lead you have the quality there to maybe think about going on from this to make get into studio and make something new... I realise this is a rather simplistic and optimistic hope... I mean what are the chances of Rodgers wanting to put Bad Company on hold for the sake of such a thing?

From what I remember when I voted online the night before the event at the site given in Brian's Soapbox, I think the percentage sat at around 69%. Dont quote me on that tho but it was like Justin said large margin.
Well personnally I really hope B&R will work with Paul. I think they can write beautiful things together.

Thought Paul Rodgers was exellent- finally they did something with someone truly talented (after Britney, Robbie, 5ive and the likes)...
