Zero.
It's just a running joke. Everyone knows people who have died.

As a mathematical/rational approach, that is quite correct. Technically, though, you can never be sure. Even ruling out, for argument's sake, the metaphysical operation of an actual 'classic' curse, there could be a psychological effect if any of the 'victims' believed in a curse. If you want to get really outlandish and drag Jung into the discussion, allowing synchronicity as well as causality as feasible connections between events, it gets really murky really quick.
That's why curses are such popular devices in fiction - there *could* be a real curse, even if it is very unlikely. Like the rage virus/zombie scenario. Long shot, yes. Absolutely impossible, no.

Is there any actual neurological evidence to support that idea?

I'm not sure about neurological, but I did come across some kind of medical paper that explained a series of supposedly curse-related deaths in this way when I was in college. I think it was about events in the 1930s, so not much neurological data to go by, but still. I'll see if I can find it again and mail it to you.

It´s all in the mind, but yeah, Thomasquinn has a point here. If you believe it, it´s like self hypnosis. Take a look at this :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YNRnyDwq2NY
Derren Brown is the first one to admit that he doesn´t have any "power". He just likes to expose those so called "leaders".
People don´t need to be asleep to be "hypnotised". That´s what we call beliefs, and they dictate your life. Derren Brown is a master in what he does. I´ve studied NLP and Hypnosis, and i tell you that this is very possible, once you know how it´s donne.
Take a look at this next example. The power of words, coupled with other things, can have this result:

At the end of the clip he explains a little what goes on in the language patterns.
Hope this helps :-)

What is Brian's connection to Rik Mayall, if any? I seem to think there is one, but cant think of it at the moment.....
Rik Mayall = Guitarist in 'Bad News' (Band) = record produced by Brian May, who also put in guest appearance at Marquee Club show (London, 1988)

That's an impressive link! But mine is far more impressive! It goes like this! Brian is a Hendrix fan (just look what he did there! And that was right at the very start of Queen!) Anyway, another one of The Young Ones Neil was very defensive about his soundspeaker in an episode because "Jimi Hendrix pissed on that!"
So the line of causality of the curse is unmistakeable! Brian > Brian's groupiedom > Hendrix > Hendrix's Urine > Neil's Speaker > Neil > Rick > Rik!
Once again, it's unmistakeable!! :-(

One can't forget the fact that just about everyone in the 70s/80s British hard rock scene at one point played with everyone else........(including Brian)..............seriously I've tried to keep track of who was in what band at what time..........I gave up...........just look at Sabbath, Deep Purple, and Rainbow............my point being it's pretty easy to connect someone from of one those bands or some others to Brian! (Maybe he's the Kevin Bacon of rock!)
