I could give examples as to how the south was actually instrumental in the civil rights movement and how there are actually inbred bigots up North
Totally agree with you
The south was absoluetly instrumental in the civil rights movement, especially since Martin Luther King Jr. was born in Atlanta GA, then after finishing High School he went to Pennsylvania and Boston to pursue his Theology studies. As he was finished with his career he went to live in Alabama and become a civil rights advocate despite warnings telling him that it might be too dangerous. If he wasn't there to live there to be a witness of the hatred and opression that black people had to endure for 100 years of segregation, perhaps he wouldn't have been as motivated to make that huge effort to fight for the civil rights of his people.
And yes, there are bigots all over the country, even in the north. But at least here we have absolutely abolished all kind of segragation laws, and we know that the confedarate flag stands for racism and segregation as much as the third reich flag stands for anti-semitism. I seriously think that waving that flag is nothing to be proud about.
