you have to remember, fred and john became very close as the years went on, by the time fred died they might have been the closest, there was no need for john to continue without his friend, and mabe john new something we didn't, like, did they have anything else to offer, music wise.

Fred's death was a real blow to John..not just because of the obvious, but because it no doubt harkened back to the days of his youth when his father passed on. That single event had a profound effect on him.
John has enjoyed being "busy" with Queen activities in the past...it's when these activities stopped that he would become bored and sink into the background. Perhaps as noted above his interest may return upon news of this tour?

1) Bohemian Rhapsody
2) Their live shows
Obvisouly BoRhap was written by freddie, let's put that aside.
Watch the Freddie Tribute Concert, then watch any Queen show: Wembley, Milton Keynes, Montreal Forum, etc... Notice what made Queen such a great act? A flamboyant singer strutting around the stage and getting a crowd of 70+ thousand to get off their asses and join the show (w/ the exception of Montreal)
Can Pul Rodgers do that? I mean, even to see Roger & Brian perform live again, it just wouldn't be worth it. Another reason why I'm not looking forward to seeing them live should they come to Montreal is that we already know what kind of songs will be featured on their setlist. Queen are "market"-driven corporation. They are corporate rockers. They will play the hits to get a younger audience, ie Radio Ga Ga, WATC, WWRY, BoRhap, Crazy Little Thing, etc.. When I hear real live classics like It's Late, Liar, Dragon Attack & Sheer Heart Attack being played, I might feel interested to pay the price to watch the show...

Your damn right John is the only smart one because he's not taking the name QUEEN to new lows by doing this proposterous tour of Brian's and Roger's. For you silly f**ks that want to pretend that Brian and Roger can carry on as Queen and be successful you are pretty damn stupid. It's selfish of them and you to want them to carry on this way. They had there time, Freddie is not around and John wants no parts of it but these 2 just can't let well enough be. I'm all for whatever they want to do but putting the name QUEEN on it is wrong. I'm a very big fan of Queen but I'm not that desperate and selfish of a fan to where I want them to release new material and go on tours when they will be way subpar and not the whole band. I am a fan of Freddie, John, Brian, and Roger as a whole, not as some half ass act still tryin to use the great name of QUEEN just because there old ass's can't be content to let it rest and be proud of what they accomplished. I'm glad I'm in the United States and won't be subjected to such a tour..............Peace
im not actually sure anyone has said this! i think people will just be pleased to see roger and brian tour to be honest. im pretty sure john wont do it (OF COURSE NOT) and i dont like them using the name queen, but its a brand, thus it will obviously help them make money.

Those songs are their creation .. why may these great artists not sing their own numbers, play the numbers that has been written by their friends but are co-played by these 2 gentlemen for 20 years, and why may these 2 hero's not tour with the name of a band that is a part of them for more then 30 years of their lives?
It's their thing, so live with it. You can't expect from them that they only look back at this dream, watch the Wembley DVD at saturday evening with their wifes and only release a GH cd so now or then. They want to continue playing "till they f*kking die!"

I think John will be watching this tour with great interest from a far distance...it will be interesting to see if they play any of his songs so he can get some royalties....
