Akira was pretty damn good.

Unfortunately, most of the manga i read that have been turned into movies, the movies were pretty bad (Tokyo Babylon is a prime example - oh my God, what have they done to it?). Cowboy Bebop wasn't bad, though.

There are great Anime movies, but there's also a lot of crap like 'Pokemon' and 'Dragon Ball Z'.

If there's one Anime studio that never fails to make great films is Studio Ghilbi. I might not be a fan of most Anime, but I'm sure a hardcore fan of everything Studio Ghilbi and Hayao Miyazaki have made.

I'll never get tired of telling people that they should watch 'Grave Of The Fireflies', although I always tell them to get a box of Kleenex before watching it.
It might be Anime, but it's without a doubt one of the best World War II movies ever, along with 'The Pianist', 'Schindler's List', and 'Life Is Beautiful'. What makes 'Grave Of The Fireflies' different from those that I mentioned is that it shows that there were also innocent victim's on the enemy's side.

When i first saw Princess Mononoke the monkeys with the red eyes freaked the crap out of me. I was like ten at the time and I thought they were the wierdest things i've ever seen animated.
