huh..why should I take a nap?
The picture can't impossible be taken 8th nov '91. Would Freddie, dying of Aids, walk around in the open air in just a shirt and with sunglasses in November?
I think if even anyone of us would just do this, garantueed you get a cold.

James

I would say it was taken somewhere in between may and mid september 1991. I have read somwhere that the last ever photo taken by the press was about 7th November. I also remember hearing this on a documentary with Jim Hutton, Pheobe, Mary Austin etc.. so he must have be bedstricken from Nov 8th aprox onwards. I must admit it would be pretty incredible for any man in his condition to beable to go out and walk then. I have read somewhere he last left Garden Lodge on sept 8th and from then on he wouldn't go out. Apparantly he couldn't move from his bed from around 11th. I don't actually believe what i've read though because as i said before it would be pretty incredible to see someone in that state out and about 3 weeks before their death.
im sorry.its just. It said daily star, and I assumed it was that one
I remember that pic from the Spanish paper being published in the UK but it was much much earlier in the year - more like late Spring, and Freddie and Jim had gone to a garden centre in London to buy some plants.
I presume the Spanish paper is announcing his death?
It must have been a warm day when the pic was taken because Freddie was usually wrapped up in jumpers and scarves for a lot of the time.

Back in the early/mid 80s a lot of guys were finding out that they were ill and already had AIDS.
People didn't really talk about HIV back then - only since the combination drug therapy has been introduced have people made the distinction between HIV and AIDS as being two different things, though even with the drugs people HIV+ are still likely to develop AIDS at some point in the future.
The Queen book by the female authur I read recently (a small paperback) says that Freddie had to have a sample of skin from his shoulder tested because he was so sure he had AIDS. Seems odd.
Maybe they didn't test the blood so easily for antibodies back then.

I have actually seen a photo called "The last ever picture taken of Freddie Mercury", somewhere on the internet. I don't think it was taken by the media. He is posing - seems to be in a garden - his maybe? I don't know whether it is actually the last pic though. I'll see if I can find it again...
that was the last picture he posed from, and in spring 1991

Is that the one of him in the back garden of garden lodge with a cat round near his feet and he was near a very small statue fountain. If so that was taken around 29th march 1991. I remember reading it in an official book and under the photo it said thanks to Barbara Valantine, March 29th 1991.
I've never ever actually seen the very last picture of Freddie but i would imagine he would look 10x worse than he does in that daily star photo. I remember seeing a pic of the internet that someone here has mentioned already of Freddie and Jim at a garden centre near a car getting some plants out of a trolley. Freddie was wearing a jacket and a hat. That apparantly was taken in early 1989. Or thats what the website said. I'll try and see if i can find out the name of the website for you.

I have found the one you're talking about - the last ever picture he posed for. It's not the one I saw, but it's similar. He looks very thin. :(

Thats the one i was talking about Dust_Biter. I've read from many places it was taken very late March 1991. I've never seen any pictures from any later than september of Freddie. Are there any?
apparently a tabloid had one at the start of November..but it was just a grainy shadowy figure of Freddie at the window(as someone on this thread said I think)
The last pic of Freddie i've seen was taken at his birthday at Garden Lodge on September 5th 1991.
and where can we see this?
